Congrats on the CS! Hope you get classed. The 1M is rare and it got classed, M4 GTS is even more rare and so did that. Excluding the CS would seem out of step with past SCCA precedent? Fingers crossed for you. Quote:

That's true, maybe it'll get put in AS with the other CS's. Won't be the worst thing considering AS and BS run almost the same times anyway. I also might just end up running STR if no one buys my NC lol

Question for you guys, would camber plates, coilovers, 18" 9.5 & 10.5 wheels with 200tw tires in my OG '18 put me in ASP?
I do it for fun and not chasing any titles. Just trying to figure out what class I'll be in for this season. Thoughts?

You should fit into STU under the catch-all rule which would be a friendlier place to run (less out gunned if you're not on A7s)

Thanks for that, I'll have to read up on this rule.

Just a minor clarification. The NOC designation will only get you into STU in non-national events if your local club allows it. Most local clubs are pretty cool with this sort of thing, especially if you only have partial prep for the class. But if you show up to a ProSolo or something like that just for fun, you'll be in ASP.
There is currently a STU rule overhaul in discussion that would formally class the OG M2 in STU starting in 2022. I expect it will be formally adopted. |

Revisiting the tire discussion, I finally got a set of 18in wheels in and I'm trying to make the decision on what tire size to run.
I was hoping to run A052's but the tire size options for the rear are still not good. I saw some talk earlier of someone trying to squish that 295/30R18, but since Yokos already run wide I'm curious to know how successful that was. It's also way shorter radius than the stock setup, though the pinch might mitigate that somewhat. RT660's have some more options. Supercar3's have less options and are probably not as fast as the other two. RE-71R's are yseterday's news as far as I can tell. Here's what I'm currently thinking. Option 1 (A052): F 265/35R18 (-1.9% radius, +0.8" width) R 275/40R18 (+1.5% radius, +0.4" width) Does this fit??? I can drop down to 265/40R18 if it doesn't. I'm leery of the 295. Option 2 (RT660): F 265/35R18 (same as above) R 275/35R18 (-2.7% radius, +0.4" width) There's also a 285/30R18, but that is a much smaller radius as well. I'm trying not to dork with the car's rake too much, but maybe I'm over-worried about it. |

I know at least one member that was running 295/35/18 A052 but was getting getting some slight rubbing under full compression, so decided to go with the shorter option.

Thanks for your reply Gusman.
Funnily enough, I hadn't noticed the 295/35R18 size when I first looked. I'm surprised that rubs because it's still shorter than the stock size and in theory should be about perfect, but I looked at the wheel well on my car and realized that the fender doesn't have much space behind it, so that might be why. I'm still tempted to try it because I don't want to lose 2-3 MPH in gearing by running a short rear tire (I'm DCT). |

I ran mine in street last year with 275 square on 18's and a dinan front bar on full soft. The car was fun but super pushy. I was unable to dial it out, but never tried going back to the stock bar. Instead I'm going fully the opposite way and doing an STU build. I'm tired of killing front tires.

What's everyone running for alignments on OG/LCI m2? Most alignment talk I find on the forum is centered around cars with camber plates, lowered etc. From searching I THINK the stock alignment specs are: Front Camber: -1.5 Front Toe: .05 deg (.1 total) Rear Camber: -1.29 Rear Toe: .08 deg (.16 total) From what I think I understand as of now, caster is not adj and there's not much if any additional neg camber available. So really this is a game of toe? |

You can only adjust toe on the front and toe & camber on the rear. For the front you can get different hubs which increase camber by -0.5 I think, otherwise it's camber plates.

Yep. I'm confined to B-Street rules so no mods. Not on a quest for ultimate camber, but in the past I've found toe alone can yield big changes to how a car drives. Was curious if any m2 b-street autocrossers have found value in straying from stock alignments with their setups and driving style.
