My car just arrived at dealership Thursday, there were delays at Bremerhaven(20 days at port I think) and at Baltimore docking 5 days late even tho it was to the area on time. Once it docked/unloaded those cars and made its way to Brunswick where mine was unloaded there were no delays.

Someone that works at a dealer on here said all German car companies were having delays at port getting out.

Another milestone hit today, a whole bunch of steps were checked off at once. I'm going to keep a log for anyone curious as to how long this process takes someone.

Timeline to date:
Apr 2 - Placed order
Apr 8 - Scheduled for production (might have been earlier)
Apr 16 - Production begins
Apr 30 - morning; Exterior assembly, in the paint booth, and entering the assembly line
Apr 30 - mid-day; assembly in progress!
Apr 30 - late afternoon; Quality check
May 4 - Final Assembly, Ready for Transport, Awaiting Carrier Assignment, and Dispatched from Factory
May 5 - At the port
May 10 - In transit (actually departed May 9 per Genius, aboard the Sirius Highway. Set to arrive May 28 to South Carolina vehicle processing center)
May 28 - Arrived at the port in the US
Jun 28 - PCD date (scheduled)

I'm starting to plan my trip back to VA from PCD pick-up. Figure I'll take 2 days to get back and do a bunch of the parkway.

I have a few CF options so the car will get these installed at the Port in CA before it leaves for transport to the dealer, it's close now!

So close now. I had some CF installed at port too, and it was in and out of there within 2-3 days, then 2 days truck time from port to dealership in metro Phoenix. Won't be long now before you're slicing up the countryside!

For the few of y'all who still have orders out there the way I got this information was by contacting the BMW Genius (via email) after the MyGarage said my M2 was in transit. That changed to in transit the night of May 10th, but Genius let me know that the ship departed May 9th.
This boat is headed to Charleston since I'm doing PCD - still waiting on my date...

Check with your CA if you haven't already. Mine was able to get me a PCD date the day my car left port.

I'm "at port" and have been obsessing about which ship I'll end up on. Our cars come through California, so I suspect I'll be sitting there for another week. I've been watching the harbor on the ship tracking sites. It's fascinating how many come in and out. Right now there's an NYK boat, Glorious Leader in port that doesn't even show up on the NYK schedule. Not sure what that's all about.

Just dropping a huge thanks to all who posted the tips on how to track our orders from factory to port to ship to delivery port and then home! Mine was picked up last Saturday and I have to tell you I had a great time following all of the steps along the way. I even found a great documentary on YouTube that covered the Hoegh Autoliners ship carrying BMWs and other equipment that added to better understanding the complexities of global trade.

The tracking process is half the fun for sure. I’ve only done it once before but the car ends up meaning a lot more when you order it vs buying it off the lot. I know there are better uses of time but who cares

Along with the tracking process and anticipation that goes with it, there's also some sense of satisfaction in ordering YOUR own car, which is yours from the moment it's assigned a VIN before even getting assembled. Zero days sitting around on a lot, zero test drives, never anyone else's car but your own. I love it.
