We deviated from a previous set up design that was very close to the CS Racing and M4 GT4 (not far from the “GTMore”). I didn’t feel happy with those setups on anything but a pure race car. The new setup puts a higher emphasis on mechanical grip to accommodate street tires and springs with matching frequencies. As for power, it made 50 more hp and tq than when we dyno’d it new. At higher levels we started chasing reliability issues on waste gate duty cycle. On the street it was fine, but the race track was a different story. A bigger turbo would have solved the issue, but that wasn’t the point of this round of work. My focus was mainly on the chassis. |

Looking at your speeds, you can carry more through T1 and T3 and quite a bit more in T10. T3 and T10 have pretty much the same lowest speed - you should be in the low 70s on stock tires and suspension. I have a much of vids from SP under GasBurn Life channel on YouTube. |

It was my first time with the m2 and definitely was not confident on the highspeed corners and was testing braking points and playing safe. I'll keep those in mind on my next run and see how much i can improve. Saw your vid and is definatley helpful! Not sure what mods you have but seems not much besides the tires and can see how capable the car is (with good driving). I don't go to the track as much(2,3 /yr) with two little ones but I look forwrard to see you some day! |

Sounds great. Looking forward to it. The car is very capable out of the box, and once you are ready to start making upgrades, adding camber and going to a square setup improves the cars and significantly reduces understeer.
I haven’t done any power or brake updates and have a 1/2 cage and race seats in mine. |

I recently got apex VS-5Rs 9.5/10.5 but haven't put them on yet and yet to decide on the tire set up. what width are you running? and do you have a recommendation for these wheels? I do want stickier tires but not full slick as I only do 2,3 track days. |

Yes, I do have suspension work and should have mentioned it. I run BW’s 3-way remote MCSs on square BW forged 18x10 et 33 wheels with a 12 mm spacer upfront on 275/35 RRs. I’d recommend you go w the 10” rim upfront to be able to nicely fit a 275 tire. It’s a tremendous help with dialing out understeer.

Morning Gents.
I believe I've clocked the fastest M2 200tw time from anyone so far at Summit Point Main a couple days ago. My build is a bit different, as she's a daily driver, so no race car stuff (save that for the race cars) and a decent bit of street vs track compromises. Altho, a healthy dose of extra power to help make up for it and to be able to hang with the last gen Turbo S's on the straights. 1:19.89 I was getting pad fade and going too deep into T1 (152mph top speed) bc I didn't get time to put Westersund brake cooling kit on, easy 0.5sec gain there, didn't quite hit the apex in T9--couple tenths there, throw on new tires and I think we're in the 18s and quicker than any of the M2 times so far, including slick tires. Altho, I've got some stiff competition from GasBurnlife(landapanda) M2joey and Xing! -Non-stripped, no weight savings daily driver -No aero -Apex VR-5RS 18x10 & 18x10.5 -RE-71RS 275F/295R with daap1193 coding to begin at 25psi cold on iDrive (26psi on my gauge) without TPMS fits, aimed for 33-34psi hot -Front AP Racing & rear Paragon BBK's with PFC pads, daap1193 coding for linear pedal feel -Bilstein PSS10 cranked to full hard (10) in the front & 8 in the rear -Lowered ~3/4" rear, 1/2" front --3.2F/-2.1R camber -Front monoballs & rear Dinan control arm & toe link kit -DCT with M2CSR DCT pan and Thor DCT coding (no longer available) -Stock DCT cooler -do88 radiator, aux radiator, and oil cooler -BMS oil cooler valve bypass -Wagner Evo3 FMIC -Akrapovic rear exhaust & HJS 300-cell DP, w/ cold start disabled to keep my neighbors happy! -TTE460 turbo w/ MST v2 inlet -BM3 Stg 2++ Multimap (slightly higher boost than the OTS), 465whp'ish on my setup -E47 fuel with Bend flexfuel filter kit -BM3 Maxcool setting turned on -Recaro Sport C driver seat, was nice to have a heated race seat this weekend -No cage, factory three point belts It's taken some effort, but it's a super fun streetcar that I can drive around town and on long trips, while still being quick on the track. And, I enjoy it more than a Porsche or new G8x. Video link here, if you turn up the volume you'll hear my colorful commentary at the end of the lap. https://1drv.ms/v/s!AgigEV_O62WJg4VJ...KGP9w?e=i4hMOX Last edited by ZM2; 03-27-2024 at 04:07 PM.. |

I just got back from WGI after a two day FCA event. The new entry curb into the bus stop looks a lot different than it actually is, though there is a small change from a driving perspective. On the old curve, I would go over with all four tires and not touch the second curb on the left. The new curbing (the shorter first section) is not as wide as the old curbing and I was still taking it aggressively but only with the right tires. I was also taking a bit of the second curbing on the left to keep the car straight. Overall, I was lapping within a tenth of my previous PB.

Mid-Ohio, with the new pavement
1:44.200 club course AIM Solo 2 timer Apex VS-5RS 18x10 265/35 Kuhmo V730 Hawk DTC60 front pads Ferodo DS2500 rear pads Goodridge stainless steel brake lines Castrol SRF fluid Vorshlag Camber plates (-3.0 degrees F, -2.0 degrees rear) PS4S, old surface: 1:43.626 PS4S, new surface: 1:46.659 V730, new surface: 1:44.200 Funny enough, I was faster with Michelin PS4S and the old pavement last year! My speeds on the straights were faster this year, but my cornering speed was 2-5mph slower! Comparing the V730 setup to the PS4S set up in the dry with the new track surface, my cornering speed and lateral-G improved with the V730. The new pavement is slower for me. I am enjoying the heat tolerance of the V730. My average lap time per session is lower with the V730 than with the PS4S because I can consistently turn 1:44.x times now without the PS4S turning to mush. We had 2 sessions in the wet, and WOW, the track is grippy. You can pretty much drive the dry line when it's pissing rain now. I used the PS4S for wet laps. I plan to be back in Mid-Ohio in August and September.
