Continental Sport contact 7 VS
I am getting close to replacing original MPSS 245/265 with 255/275 35 R19
I have plenty of room and run 2.25 degrees of -ve camber and 9.5x19 ET22 and 10.5x9 ET37.5 (45 with Turner 7.5 hub centric spacers) I am thinking Continental Sport Contact 7, or MPSS (do the rears first and then the fronts later), or possibly see if the Yoko AD09's become available I definitely dont want MPS4S, probably not MPSC2 as it will be driven in the cold and wet. I also dont want a 265/30, 285/30 combination as I think they look too thin. Any other thoughts, I am in the UK so some of the later Goodyears don't seem to be available. I'm after feel and dry grip over great wet performance and only do 5-8k miles a year Any thoughts and experiences appreciated |

I read a glowing review of the C Sport Contact 7. Unfortunately I have yet to see them in the US. I might give them a try if I could find them.

Op, did you ever end up going with 7’s?
I see they’re now in the US, and I purchased for me x3m, but I have some people telling me they’re horrible. I’m hoping they are thinking about the 6’s. |

In the review of the MP4S vs ExtremeContact Sport 02, reviewer briefly mentions assumed differences of the ECS2 and SPC7. |

I had the Contact 7s for 2 days at Hockenheimring. They were very very soft and sticky. The grip was good. But they got really soft when heated past 3 laps and started to melt away. They lasted 2 track days with a total of about 60-80 laps before they corded.
On the street they felt meaty. Good rain when new. But they were on the car for a week before I had to swapt to the 4S. They wear like iron compared to the contact 7. When I ran RE71R's on my subaru, they were better on track sessions and didn't melt away. |
