Wheel and tyre combo for a dry skid session
Apologies if this has been asked before but I did search and didn't find much. I recently did a wet skid pan day and got the bug to practise going sideways in the dry. Would like to get a wheel and tyre combo that I can swap the rears for the session that I can burn that's not my daily rear wheels/tyres. Does anyone have recommendations?

I think there are bespoke drifting tires, like the Federal 595, but the 340tw Firehawk Indy 500 would be my choice. It's decently grippy, has a great sidewall, has plenty of meat, and lasts a long time.

I know of a few heavy duty courses that use these as skid/street course tires. Reason being cost vs wear vs sideways-ability. These came on my M2 by way of the previous owner and I can attest that they take some abuse. They spin/slide fast and last a long ass time. Fun tire if ultimate grip is not what you’re after. |

I don't know about longevity, but they have plenty of traction when you need it but certainly break loose when you want them to.
