Lol. You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. I know this is a BMW forum but I owned a 2012 FBO stage 2 TTRS and it would not only beat but smoke most M2's on this board. Period. Maybe not on the track, but otherwise it's like see ya! Oh, and stingers are a POS. Ask an owner!

Race a tuned FBO TTRS and you will be the fool. No doubt. Then trade what you got for your Dream KIA stinger. I've owned both an M2 and a TTRS. Loved both but if you underestimate a FBO TTRS you could very well get embarrassed, so don't do it with your GF in the car! You are the F'n rookie fool!

You guys are ruthless
His car is really nice. The interior is definitely NOT anything like a regular A3, that thing has some proper fancy sports seats, and that 5-cylinder pulls hard… but it’s just not very engaging at all. Most Audis I’ve driven lately, even the fast ones, are overly refined for my taste. They feel too sensible LOL |

I guess if you're buying a car for the go pedal and interior, Audi is right up there, but in terms of fun they're just horrible. Most of the time the most fun line isn't the fastest. |

yeah it just depends what you want in a car. i rented a TTRS off Turo last year. it definitely feels like a small displacement heavily turbocharged powerband... nothing nothing then the turbo hits hard. the DCT felt clunky as well, but that may have been because it was a rental and not treated well.
if i was a straight line guy i would just get a 2010 GTR for that money though. its nearly as fast as the audi when you go FBO. and it sends power to the rear wheels first with front assist if needed. the audi does the opposite.

They’re all good dogs… err I mean cars…
Different strokes for different folks and what not. I wouldn’t mind an auto RS3 as a daily runabout. As mentioned the 5cyl can make stupid power with a tune and minor bolt ons. If you live in a state that gets weather like CO, you can do a lot worse than an RS3. As someone who came up watching the Audi’s dice it up in the old speedworld challenge I’ll always have a soft spot for the spicy Audis even if they do understeer like crazy. Different tools for different jobs. |

👆🏼 well said.
I mean, if I were an Audi fan I wouldn’t be hanging here 😄 but I do appreciate many things about them. I’ve driven a lot of fast cars, many way out of my price range, and also many fast clunkers held together with zipties… right now, this M2 fulfills all my wants and needs. |

Was cross-shopping an RS3 just for shit's and giggles before I bought my M2. Obviously, I made the right choice
Couldn't have fit in the RS3 anyways; not really made for the taller gentlemen...

I owned a 2018 RS3 along with my M2C until a few months ago, when I sold the RS3. The reason the front wheels a half an inch wider in the front is, Audi Sport felt the car would rotate easier going around corners. Nothing to do with the haldex AWD, which, by the way, was excellent at being AWD. With my draggy, it would consistently do a 0-60 between 3.10-3.2 sec, so I don't know what you think is so bad about it. With a APR stage 2 software, the DQ500 felt much better than the DCT in my old F80 M3C (and why I bought a manual in my M2C). As most of you know, the RS3 is a rocket. Feels like a true turbo motor, with some lag and the rubber band feeling, which I happen to like but is completely different than the S55, where they intentionally tried to make the engine feel NA. Suspension is where the RS3 fell short, and part of the reason (aside from the stupid offer I got on the car when the whole shortage thing happened) the car was sold, but truth be told, in a way, I do miss it, and the suspension could've been fixed but anyway... The M2 is a 2 series, and the RS3 is MQB, so, a 5 cylinder Jetta. The best way I can describe the RS3 is, its an Evo that went to finishing school. |

I dig the RS3, and it is a rocket, that 5-cylinder is no joke. My neighbor puts a full set of snows in the winter and pretty much drives it year’round. Interesting that this post was about asking the forum if they thought the M2 was “just” a 2-series or not (because of its F8’ chassis designation), and somehow it became a Audi-bashing fest. Maybe it hit a nerve with some M2 owners too. |
