Service Intervals?
I got my car used so the 3 year/36k maintenance plan didn't transfer over, so I'll be doing most of the maintenance for my car. The only problem is that I don't know how often I am supposed to do everything. The only thing I am certain about is doing engine oil changes every 5k miles and changing spark plugs every 30k miles when stock.
How often should I flush brake, coolant, power steering, trans and diff fluid, etc.? Thanks! |

Brake flush is every two years unless you track your car. Then most clubs want at least once a year. Coolant is every four years. BMW claims the other fluids are lifetime. But most people change them at 50K miles or so.

How many miles on your car? How many years in service? I thought you can transfer the free service by paying BMW $100 or something
I have a 2020 M2C and for my 3 year (21k miles) service BMW did 1) oil/filter change, 2) air filter, 3) spark plugs, and 4) brake fluid change Also, did the TCM recall sw update |

I was not aware that you could transfer it for 100 bucks, I would have done that if there was an option to but my salesperson explicitly told me that the service thing doesn't transfer, and that seems to be what the BMW service webpage says as well so I don't think they were pulling a quick one on me |

Spark plugs are recommended every three years.

I may be mistaken about the transfer, but luckily there aint a whole lot to do in a low mileage car in 3 years. |

Spark plugs are 30k miles. Age has nothing whatsoever to do with when they actually need replacing- despite some dopey time interval dreamed up by some BMW intern.

Sure, but if my free service is about to expire after year 3, and i only have 20k miles on my car, I'm gonna get those free sparks

Kutta, would it be too much trouble to post another image of the maintenance schedule, can’t see year 5 and looks like it has another page on bottom? TIA!

The M2 maintenance schedule is also online. For example, MY19, since I think that’s what the OP has:

In that situation, absolutely! It’s a great freebie cuz its an expensive labor-intensive job once it’s coming out of our own pockets.

I changed out my M2’s engine oil this past weekend. After draining out all the old oil, getting the new filter on, and reinstalling the drain plug, I put in 6 qts of oil. Then I started the car and let it idle until the digital oil measurement function in iDrive was available. It read a bit below the upper/max line. So, I poured in another ½ qt and measured again. This time it measured right up to the upper/max fill line.
I didn’t take any steps — that I know of — to explicitly prime the engine after filling with new oil. |
