Touch Up Paint for Forged Black Wheels
Can someone please tell me where I can get touch up paint for my 19" M Forged Black 788 wheels?
I try to avoid curb rash. Unfortunately, with the wide wheels, we sometimes make a mistake. On big mistakes I've had the wheels refinished. This time it's a relatively small rash and I'd like to just do a spot repair and live with it. Many thanks. |

That doesn't exist … I've made mine with a mix of a little of black paint and a lot of clear varnish

You wont be able to get it back to 100%. There are three options; Leave it as is, get it done professionally but it wont match 100%, get all of your wheels powder coated. I chose option 3. The 788M wheels look so much better when they are 1 color, they show the depth of the wheel and look fantastic.

Just paint the damage with clear nail varnish (after removing any dirt/debris with a brush/microfibre cloth/IPA), and move on with your day.

Obvs, in the same way that you really don't want to know why your razor goes blunt quite so quickly, your SO doesn't want to know why her nail varnish is running out. So, be discreet...

Yeah this is tricky because if it’s through the clear and into the polished face it will require removal of some material also, not just matching the tint of the clear. It’ll never be perfect but a really good shop that has done 437M or 666M dark can handle it. A shop near me is doing F8x all the time so I assume they are pretty good at repairing this tinted clear since they are fixing black 437 all day which has the same clear.

No idea what their work is like, I just know I’ve seen a bunch of F8x outside. Silverstar Wheel Repair in Maywood, NJ. Now, this is in Bergen county so I’m not sure it’s really worth the drive from Philly. I’m sure you can find someone competent that’s not in North Jersey. May want to ask who your dealer uses. Experience with the finish is probably the best way to get a good result.
