for everyone else... having said that.. the OEM battery is 26kg .. so it is. massive saving.. ALSO a massive saving can be had switching out the rotors and calipers for AP Racing Pro 5000R ... i saved 10kg per corner and also went to 18 inch rims.. which were 3.2kg lighter PER corner... so rotational mass i was able to take off 20kg for brakes 12.8kg for wheels total of 32kg rotational mass.. that type of weight saving is massive for track purposes |

How’s the balance of the car? If you shave 20 kilograms off the battery, which is in the rear part then the front engine car, which originally tends to be tail-happy, becomes even more tail-happy. I took off the rear seats but at the same time I installed the bucket seats. So the balance is the same. Reducing weight on rims and brakes is excellent idea! |

just recorner balanced the car and its fine. it seems to be behaving as expected. i have a few track days coming up so will be interested to see how it goes
also yeh,...reducing weight on rims and brakes.... forget about placebo effect.. you can REALLY feel the weight reduction and the nimbleness of the car and responsiveness and braking response. it really stops on a dime. less rotating mass to stop!! its brilliant! |

- Why AP Racing Pro 5000R? Because I track a lot. I wanted something that is proven and the PRO 5000R are preferred by Semi professional racers/ Club Racers because of its light weight design, durability, reduced size for a 6 Pot Caliper to be able to fit 18 inch rims on. 20kg Weight reduction changing over the brake and rotors only is a massive weight saving in terms of rotational mass. You will feel that. Reduced stopping distances, faster acceleration, more responsive steering, better suspension control and damping through reduced unsprung mass all the benefits of a track car. the equivalent Brembo Kit is the GT/R Series Calipers... which is slightly larger and heavier than the AP Equivalent. Also the Caliper design of the AP Racing means i have a massive range of Racing brake pads i can chose from as its a standard design. There are other good kits out there eg the Alcon 6 Pots etc ... but once again they are bigger and heavier than the AP Racing design. |

I have the CCBs at the M2CS. M2CS is going to stay with me. And the M2C is very likely to go next year. Would AP Racing Pro 5000R be seriously lighter than OEM CCBs? What was the weight difference between OEM calipers vs AP racing? |

The 2NH Caliper is HEAVY. its the same caliper used in the CCB. The AP Racing Caliper is 2.7kg and the OEM caliper is 7.5kg. The AP is significantly lighter. CCB for regular track use becomes prohibitively expensive if you track regularly. The Rear Rotors and Calipers works out about 4.8kg lighter per corner over OEM So all up if you change all the brakes over that is 9.4kg x 2 = 18.8 & 4.8kg x 2 = 9.6 = 28.4kg saving rotational mass I also paired this with ultra light weight rims and went Volk Racing which is 8kg per corner. OEM Rims is 11.5kg new wheel weight is 8kg = 3.5kg So 4 rims = 14kg So overall i save 28.4 + 14 = 42kg (92.5lb) That is a pretty hefty weight saving rotational mass Last edited by Robbyjai; 10-04-2021 at 10:52 PM.. |

1540kg with 20L of gas.
I have changed the oem seats 27kg each to recaro pole position (carbon) 5.5kg each. This month I will add carbon hood and carbon trunk lid. I hope to reach around 1450kg |

Are the front seat weights shown on spreadsheet ‘seats’ only? Or does seat weight include their associated mounts too (e.g. 56.8lb ‘driver seat’ weight = seat + undermounts + sliders)?

I didn't set out to save a lot of weight with my car, but the GTS aluminum hood, FI-R's, and CCB's have made me feel better about adding the larger, heavier calipers/pads, and intercooler. I do hope to get a lighter set of seats at some point, but I'm short and comfort is a must for me, so it may be a while.

Look for a pole position set, they are very comfortable, light and you can use OEM sliders, and my GTS adapters. |
