Comparing PPV wraps
Hi everyone
New to this forum and recently acquired an M2C. I'm being told I should definitely put a paint protection vinyl wrap on at least the nose of the car. There are several brands all with different properties depending on what the expected outcome is such as maximum protect against chips versus maximum shininess. I've looked into Xpel, 3M and Sun Tek and there are others. Anybody have any feed back on their experiences they would like to share? Thanks. Alex |

He did an amazing amazing job. All edges well tucked in and I can't even tell there is a film. He used Suntek reflections film and I can't spot difference in areas there is PPF vs not. I did all of front bumper, hood, front side fenders, side rocker panels, rear fender and rear bumper. Picking the best installer is way more important than the film. I feel overall you could choose either Xpel or Suntek as far as you get the best installer in town |

Xpel and SunTek are the two current favorites. IMO, the installer is the most important variable.

I have Xpel and would recommend you find the most reputable and longest standing installer in your area. Ask them how they handle installing the film around the roundel (best way is to remove the emblem) and how they finish the film at the edges. You want to make sure they are wrapping as many edges as possible as opposed to just ending the film at the edge of a body panel. Otherwise you risk chips on the leading edge of the hood, etc.

Yep, installer is the key. If you can find one that is reputable with a fine attention to detail, I would go with them and whatever brand they use.
Easier said than done....good luck.
