The tire size on the CS is the same because the wheel size is the same, and all things considered it's the best performing size. However, that speaks only to the limit. If you're not tracking the car you'll notice little difference at all. My personal preference is the Firehawk Indy in 265/30 & 285/30, but that's another discussion. The 255/35 & 275/35 size is pervasive around here, and I've never read anything that said they changed the character of the car in any significant way. |

Here is a big discussion on tire size. https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1468422
Lots of people are running 255/35/19 and 275/35/19s with zero problems. |

I have the Cup 2's on my CS and just put a set on my '17 M2 as well. They are awesome tires. Totally transformed the '17. Especially if you can get them at 0 addl cost. I just went one size wider front and rear with no spacers on the '17.

Yes, if I remember 255 - 275 is one size wider front and rear. The tires are much more responsive. It feels like a different car. Granted mine is the ZL9 with the M Perf coilovers, but it still made a noticeable difference. I can't wait to try them on the track.

Tire Rack tire comparison. Need to watch the Cup 2s in the rain. As a daily driver the PS4s are a better tire. Cup 2s are great dry weather track tires.

The cup2 (240) is a great tire. Those that say they are "treacherous" in the rain have likely never driven on them. I DD my car. Had them on all winter. Driven hours in the rain. In the rain in mid 30 degree F weather. They are fine. Yes, I'm more cautious when it's wet, but Im more cautious on any tire in the rain. They are every bit as good as my p-zeros on another car and arguably better in the cold. Would I drive them in wet below freezing? No. Are they optimal for cold weather? No. You need to make sure they are warmed up (track connect sensors work well). They are pricey and may only get 8k miles out of them. I'm at 3k and they still look really good. I plan to replace them with another set of cup2s when the time comes.

Only street. The tread depth is really shallow to begin with. They don't appear to have worn much, but I haven't stuck a depth gauge on them. I wanted to share that little gem before someone dropped 2k on tires and regretted the decision. I was hoping I'd get 10-12k out of them, but I think that is really optimistic. The grip on these is incredible, but it certainly comes with a cost.

ZL9 package is the Performance Package from 2017. 150 cars were produced with that option.
For what it's worth we just drove the CS and base M2 to S Carolina and back for the MX1 fest - both on Cup 2's - through rain and all types of weather. They were fine for almost 2k round trip miles. Yes, they are soft and will pick up a bit more debris, but to me that's a reasonable trade off. I don't expect to get more than probably 8,000 miles out of a set but that's about 2-3 years for me as neither car is a daily. If you don't daily the car and expect to do a few track days I can't imagine a better tire choice. |

I have the Cup 2 Connect. When they are worn out I will replace them with the Cup 2 Connect. This is an important thing to keep in mind. Once you are used to this tyre it is unlikely you will want to go back to anything else. Just make sure it is the exact BMW star spec connect version, not the standard Cup 2. I have not noticed any issues in the rain. I guess you may do as they approach end of life but that's the same with any tyre.

It's hard for me to contrast them directly to PSS (or as I call them, Pilot Slippery Sports) as I have them on a different car with lots of other changes. However I suspect they would make a very nice improvement to steering feel on the M2 and M2C. Grip is off the charts. They warm up quickly. They do pick up road crap a bit more easily but I don't live somewhere with all the winter gravel issues, so this is minor for me. And it's nowhere near the level of pick up as full on track tyres. I live in a warmer climate too, so I can't vouch for cold weather performance but Dave above says they are ok. I really love these tyres. Finally, a good video to watch. Includes the PS4S as well and of course mentioning the steering feel problem with the PS4S that many members have mentioned. Note: The Cup 2s in this are not the Cup2C. The reason I included is those Goodyear Supercar 3 look to be placed in exactly the same space the Cup 2 Connect. They sound really great and fit my spec of nice road feel. So they may also be worth checking out. This guy's reviews are always really good. |

Of course, in the nanny-all-the-things M2, they're much better, but they still lose their ultimate grip quicker, and get loud sooner than a true street tire does. The PSC2 is just not a good street tire, and to say it is, is to mislead someone. |
