Used og m2 prices going up?
I've been monitoring the m2 market for the last 6 months and now that I am in a legitimate position to buy one it seems the prices have gone up. Is due to low supply? (Only 170 on auto trader)/ high demand. Or the time of year? Is this a bad time to buy one?

Used car prices are at an all time high. Most are 15-20% higher than they were 6 months ago.
I too have been looking at OG M2s for over a year. |

If you think about it , the f87 cars are one of the last to have DCTs, with the sport chassis these type cars are rarer now, in that they give you a taste of what motorsports used to be like

Funny you say that, because manual transmission cars far outnumber dcts in my search. Maybe the secondhand market prefers the dct? Would've thought for sure it would be the opposite

This is why I ended up ordering a new one, PO market is on fire with no sign of slowing down with new car shortages getting worse as plants close due to lack of parts and computer chips.

Used car sales/prices of all kinds are just through the roof. A good friend of mine owns a small car lot. They have about 100 cars on hand at any given time, and sell about 35 to 50 a month. Last month they sold 128, and the month before that 120.
I bought my '18 with 9400 miles on it in August of 2019 for $48K. The car now has 17K on the clock and he said he could give me $50K for it and easily turn a good profit. Just weird. |

Everything is going up. Hopefully this isn't the beginning of hyper-inflation.

Lol not really. Dealerships here are slime balls. Friend of mine tried to trade in a 2016 and they offered 24000 canadian. Another buddy got a quote for his 2017 for 30000. Then they turn around and sell em for 45000 to 50000. Not a good time to trade in at all!!! Then again, knowing this, you could probably try and negotitate a helluva deal if you want an OG.

Bought my 2017 6MT in June ‘19 with 10k miles on it for $43,500. At 32k miles it’s now worth $42k- a good 3 grand more than it was at a similar mileage last fall.
