283 km/h (175 mph) last summer on the 31 (N/S running in western DE). Almost ran out of gas one stretch not paying attention. Was with a buddy in his RS3 (which hung on impressively) and a couple other Ms. Road wasn't crowded and weather was perfect.
KW coilovers, CPs and federal RSRs. Surprised at how composed it was at speed tbh. Oh and driver pack with relaxed top speed |

That doesn't surprise me, the short wheelbase is for agility not stability. I'd bet an M4 is a better autobahn car.
But an M2 Comp will still get moving pretty fast in a pinch i guess! |

Same. Missing the European roads and driver care. Germany does it best. NL was good for the road speeds but they cut the limit to 100km/h during the day and increased cameras.... Brutal. Also one thing the Dutch do that drive's me nuts is signal they're moving and they move whether there's room or not. I give room always for a merge, etc but it can be in flowing traffic.

I grew up over there in Europe and every time I do a road trip in North America, and I do many, the driving here is so frustrating. Such a great big country with so many amazing roads to enjoy, but the speed limits and driver education here are insanely frustrating. I actually bought the M2 to teach my kids how to drive a manual and am teaching them the rules of the road the German way. Well I admit that it was an excuse for myself also when the CS came out.
I still do remember how hard, long and expensive it was for me to get my license in Germany. |

Agreed on the driving etiquette in Europe, especially in Germany. It's so refreshing. I've driven through most of continental Europe, and Iceland as well.
Hungary used to be the country where the highways weren't too patrolled 10 years ago.. but apparently that has changed now. Anyways, M2C, MT, tuned mildly, will easily reach the end of 5th gear at redline and keep going in 6th to the end of the speedo. It's very well composed. In fact, it may reach its theoretical gear limited top speed if allowed. |
