What kinda shocks me is that the current F-series cars get the NBT Evo head unit that still has a 2.5" 200gb spinning hard drive inside. In 2021. Hard to wrap my brain around that, even though the hardware was developed a few years ago - it seems to make zero sense to have a spinning drive instead of flash memory by now, or even when it was developed originally. I seriously doubt that id7 continues to use it - gotta be flash by now.

I've only done a little bit of poking around, but from what I've read so far, it's not simple, and I haven't found anyone who has done it.
Speaking of the current id6 system in the LCI+ cars - does anyone know how much capacity for music remains? "Approximately 20gb" is kicked around but I think that goes back to the days of the earlier id4 hardware, which only had an 80gb drive. So in theory even with software bloat, there should be a lot more available space to load music.
