Had a good laugh at this new mechanic I went to. He said my air filter was filthy. Out of curiosity, I asked how much it would cost. He said $175

I also installed some led turn signals

finally got around to installing the F22 sound deadening under the hood, in the trunk/rear wheel wheels, etc. made a huge difference in cabin noise when on the highway at 70mph or so

Who did you use for the carplay?

CF Braces

The Turner CF braces look so much better than the metal after thoughts BMW used.

I'm guessing pretty well. To get the dip off of the little M emblems I had to use a knife. Couldn't get through it with my nail or even a toothpick. Time will tell!

Oh man that's a big project. Going to add this to my list... how long did this take you? Did you use a post to guide you on where you should place the material?

kubax86

He told me the app makes a back up so if I ever want to undo the change you can. I'm not sure that works because I have not tried reversing it but it gives me some piece of mind.

CarPlay with fullscreen is so much better, especially when you consider being able to use Waze fullscreen. It also just looks nice.

Made it 200 miles to Atascadero at 23.5 mpg on shitty California gas. Here for a couple days then Joshua Tree, then Santa Barbara.

I really need to put in new intake and cabin filters after this trip.

it's all OEM F22 parts: https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=25724310

removing all panels etc took a half hour. Installing everything took an hour, mainly just due to carefully unclipping all the wiring to slide the padding under, getting it all positioned properly, trying not to break clips etc. Then gave the interior a good detailing as everything got reinstalled. so maybe 2.5hrs total?

Sebs, your private messages are full and won't accept more until you delete fyi. If your gonna powder coat the rims that's $500- use gloss black. You can DM for an offer on the OEM corner braces. THanks.

Not a fun job but totally worth doing. I put a little extra sound deadening on the floor, not sure if it helped but it can't hurt! Did you do the filler pieces in the front fenders just in front of the doors? I think they make a difference too as the block engine sounds coming into the cabin.

Notice any change in handling? I was thinking of getting these myself.

good job! I'm looking to install the side plates (as taped to the body of the car) as per your first picture - would i just have to remove the side panels next to the back seat? Would i be required to take out the actual seats as well? were there any specific instructions to follow to remove those side panels?

Created a thread to keep track of what gets done to the car. Probably should've started in June '19 but I had no idea things would change this much in 18 months. Check it out.

I'd done those awhile back, definitely helped as well.

for just the rear side panels, you would:

* remove rear seat bench (pull up at front edge, then out/away)
* remove side panels (5x plastic clips per panel, 3F 2R)

there was some info in the f22 thread I linked above, and I looked at a couple of youtube videos, but it was pretty straightforward. I didn't break any clips removing, but did on reinstall when I didn't have it lined up properly and went to pop it in. $3 and a trip to Autozone fixed that though.

Tracking or Parking? I'd cry like a baby parking. I'd feel like it was a battle wound driving. It would hurt and my pride too but I'd feel a little better haha. 😜

Do you know if those clear the Dinan Airbox? I am doing the M3/4 CF strut retrofit but I absolutely love how those turner pieces look and would like to add them on if they would fit.

Replaced headlight bulbs to the OSRAM XENARC 66140 COOL BLUE BOOST (7000k).

I believe they are the brightest HID's in the market. Although they are 7k they look pure white like leds.

https://www.theretrofitsource.com/d1...CBB?quantity=1

Left is the osram, the one on the right is the OEM bulb.

as tested by TRS and others, they're not anywhere near 7000K temp, closer to 5500K. But yes one of the best bulbs on the market currently (and what I run as well)
