Wow, just a second off the GT4. That's impressive in my mind! I've driven enough early GT4's that I thought it would kill the CS.

100% not believing those numbers. They need a better driver.

Nice video. Here are some lap times to compare:
https://fastestlaps.com/tracks/hockenheim-gp Too bad there is no comparison with M3/4 CS.

Power gap certainly gives an advantage on Hockenheim. Just see M5 and M8 times...

I also think, if they're in that company, they could have used the Exige 430 Cup.
And to really get down to business they cars should wear the same tires IMO. |

Agree for the 430 Cup but all cars were on Cup2 in this test.

BMW M2 CS vs. Exige 410 Sport vs. Cayman GT4 @ Hockenheim
Pretty fair and close comparison of some of the best modern lightweight track options out there I think. Curious as to your thoughts? |

Good thing is that for once cars have same tires and are driven by the same guy (the same day?). Still the Lotus has a 6MT which is not an advantage for this battle against DCT/PDK cars.

its straight up impressive for a car that you can do these numbers at Hockenheim, then pick up a months worth of groceries and your kid from daycare right after. I think if the M2CS lost the two rear seats it would handily win this race.
Will be curious to see what G87 M2CS can do with the S58 . Last edited by Avaley; 10-31-2020 at 10:16 AM.. |

FIY their driver is also a racing driver «at night». He has competed in the Nurburgring 24h race several times and this year drove a BMW M2 Racing.
At least he knows the M2 quite well... 😉 He is also the one doing all their supertest lap times on the Nordschleife. |

Whichever one has back seats is the winner for me.

I haven't really commented on the M2 largely because I'm not really in the market for one (or will be for a while), but holy crap! To be able to trade punches with these two AND still offer more practicality than either of them is astonishing.
