I had the pads overheat once coming into turn 2, hard on the brakes and they just gave up but other than that they've been good to me.

I'll be changing the pads before the next track day
Im about 99% certain its knockback and not bleeding issues. I use a (low) presure bleeder and have the same yet on the road I never get the same feeling. Really noticeablt after a switch back turn combo.

I am very surprised you did not get the pad deposit vibration. I guess, good braking technique + M2C cooling + M2C bigger brakes + a relatively light braking track = OEM brakes that can cope.

Yeah you're right, I think it may also be pad knock back. I also don't have the issue on the street.

The track is actually fairly hard on brakes due to it being short with few straights to cool them down, couple of hard braking zones and not much time for them to cool before you're braking again at most corners.

Anyway - probably not the right thread for this conversation about pads haha but indeed I did not have an issue with the pads and was able to push the car at Laguna.... still got 1.4s to find!

Magator has a point, Laguna is easy on the brakes as in there are 2 huge brake zones on the opposite ends of the track, with a few lighter brake zones inbetween. Stock pads melt on hard circuits like Hockenheimring. Glad you were able to make it so far, but get proper track pads for sure. Good driving man, and if you're more prepared you can only hope for better results next time.

Yup all relative ofc. but I think a lot of EU tracks are twistier and have harder braking zones. Come to Zolder and see how long your pads last

Did a track day at NCM in bowling green

2018 OG M2.
-Fabspeed muffler bypass
-M performance coilovers on neutral setting
- stock pads with Motul Brake fluid
255/35 and 275/35 MPS4S tires

This was my first track day ever and ran a 2:30 as my best, Couple GT3RS with very experienced drivers ran a 2:15 so i'm happy for a beginner.

Read for camber plates so I don't destroy these tires

I’ve been chasing a 1:59.xx all year but have only been getting lots of 2:00.xx prior to this past weekend, so to not only break through the 2 minute mark on Saturday, but to come back Sunday and get a 1:58.xx was a big accomplishment for me.

Good plan....by the way, get rid of those factory pads and try PFC08. Once you get a little faster you will get massive fade and bad things will happen.

Equalled, to the 100th of a second, my previous best time at LRP, although had a best rolling lap in the mid 0.59s. Was a cool day, perfect for setting good lap times. Unfortunately, my front brake pads were getting paper thin, prohibiting my pushing any further.

Limerock Park - 0:59.94 Dvas 2017 M2 6spd (NT01, PFC08, Bilstein B16 PSS10, GC Camber Plates)

Best lap starts at 4:10 in the video.

Participated in a local Ukrainian national Time Attack Competition with my M2C (high temperature brake pads, millway street camber plates, everything else was stock).

Participated with other 19 cars in my class, most of which were base 911s and Caymans-Boxsters S/GTS. The class criteria were: up to 430 hp, stock size tires, michelin cup 2 as the stickiest tire (up to 140 treadwear).

Managed to get 3d position loosing just 0.06 sec to 991.1 911 and 0.2 sec to VW Scirocco heavily modified (sport suspension and brakes, full rear seat delete, bucket seats etc).

Old Soviet type racetrack called Chaika.

Did 1:23.941 best lap

The kids insisted: the Bear should take part in the competition with moms blue car! )))

Improved my Nordschleife time to 8:07. Updated in the sheet. I can post the video, it will just take some time to process.

Also in a different 8:09 lap got stuck for a while behind this 911 which would not let me pass. Thankfully a McLaren Sanna showed up to help get him out of my way

Here is the full 8:07 NOS lap. Or more like 8:03 + 4 seconds it took my camera to start recording when I pushed the button under the Bridge.

Edit. Upon closer inspection of footage I think I lost 5-6s in traffic, particularly from T13 through Hatzenbach clearing the Porsche train. I made a few mistakes in execution, the one that cost me ~2s was braking too late and rushing my entry into Bergwerk. Cost me exit speed up the long uphill section. This could have very well been a 7:5X lap otherwise.

Just bumped my personal best to 1:22.00 at Summit Point - Main this past weekend. Was part of a Time Trial with BMW NCC and used a CCA Racing transponder. The time was within .1 of the M Laptimer.

What your thoughts on that tire? Any comparisons to go off of? I have a new set (245/265 19s) waiting to go on.

The dry grip of these tires falls somewhere between the Michelin PS4S and the Bridgestone RE71R, breakaway appears to be predictable, and wear is better than both of these tires. It handles heat better than the PS4S and hence does not appear to be chunking after 5 days, and it does not wear our like the RE71R does where you can see it wear after every session.

In the wet I'd day it also falls between the RE71R and the PS4S, and while it will not run PS4S laps in the wet, it allows for driving at a decent pace where you can have some fun and are not simply driving around the track just because it's your session. Breakaway in wet and slippery conditions is predictable - the one day I had it in the rain, I felt it gave enough warning before the rear would let go.

Overall, this is certainly a tire that will be in my list of go-to tires in the future.
