Installed the M2 CS wheel in my car. If you can live with the red perforated stripe, it's a real deal for $500 from GetBMWParts.

Looks great man!

You must've been one of the first people to preorder one through them. They haven't even received mine from Germany yet apparently

I definitely want one, but am going to wait for a couple of years until the new feeling and grip of my leather wheel goes away. Then I'll get a brand new wheel in alcantara.

Are you happy with it? It seems to be one of the bigger gripes about the CS. Too thick and no heat.

Yes, although I've only driven the car 5 miles since I installed it. It's the same thickness as the M3/M4 CS wheel, just a different color stripe.

Perhaps there are others, but I did see Joe Achilles complain about the M2CS wheel thickness in his review. I went back and looked at his M2C videos, and he had his M2C wheel customized with padding removed to be thinner than stock and covered with alcantara. He discusses in that video how he prefers thin steering wheels.

I'm OK with losing the heat. I had a non-heated alcantara wheel on my previous BMW for 8+ years, but if it really bothers me, I'll have my stock heated wheel recovered with alcantara. I had priced it out and it was ~$500-600, depending on the options you get, so I just decided to buy the M2CS wheel.

I really like Joe, I do disagree on the Alcantara wheel thickness, I Love thick wheels!

Yes from the dealer, I can see your in Melb.

Give your local dealers a call and quote the
PN# (32-30-8-746-879) M2 CS Steering Wheel.

I have a very good relationship with my dealer so I got a good discount, retail is around 830ish at the moment.

How easy is it to swap the wheel? I assume the airbags and buttons etc, are all reused from the original wheel?

Pretty easy. Yes, the airbags, trim piece, vibration thing and buttons are moved to the new wheel. Heating control is left disconnected.

Here is a good tutorial:
https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1399282

My recommendations: fold down rear seat and put a towel over trunk latch so the trunk is not closed with disconnected battery. Take pictures of the wheel wiring so when you move everything over you can route everything correctly.

Marginally thicker. Although I didn't measure, someone else did with the E8x stock and CS (and v2) wheels: https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...82&postcount=6

Wasn't the easiest job but definitely not difficult either, wheel feels a lot thicker for sure.

Very happy with it paired with the dry carbon centre piece.

On M2 futura edition or M2CS is the Alcantara steering wheel has M color stitching or just plain black?
