This is widely debated. There are a few updates like adaptive suspension, merino leather, carbon roof. There are other carbon parts, but most can be had as mperformance parts. It's more limited than the M2C. It's significantly more expensive, and most of the performance gains can be achieved much more cheaply on the C with a tune and suspension. It really needs to float your boat as something that you want. Useful back seats, trunk space, stroke your ego with fewer around, etc. It's got stellar performance numbers for what it is, and backed by full warranty. It's not a 2door sports car. If you don't need the back seats, then the used market has a lot of nice options. It's playing in a price range that you must spend quite a bit more to exceed it, but you can spend significantly less on an M2C and not give up much.

It's really a head scratcher for me? I just can't believe it...but, he literally ckd and double ckd and called in his manager who verified!

So, I dunno? I'm tempted to call around the other local BMW Dealerships to see what they got?

Yes, totally agree that getting a M2cs should be done for pure enjoyment and not in hopes of turning a profit down the road!
Yes, that one dealer did get 7 allocations. Others in the DC area got 1 or 2.

The math has been done before in reference to what Dave has said. If you use all the Mperfromance bits, replace the shocks, and have fully optioned an M2C, the M2CS is about 7K more I believe and you still have the different interior and carbon roof going for you. Check out the video reviews thread to see what reviewers say about how it drives/compares. You'll get a lot of the "it feels special/great" and then a mixture of "it's worth it!" and "it's not worth it!" form the reviewers.

A little of of context relative to the original quote. Apropos, none the less.
Tiff Needell says something not dissimilar in his review "No one who buys one will be in any way disappointed. I'd really rather like one. It's my sort of car."

My GM said the cars will be editable starting today (per BMW) and that BMW will start pulling them for build in 10 days.

yours might be coming soon too
Argh. No, mine's being built October. There was an initial small batch of about 17, so I guess that's them finally arriving.

My 1M has become a dedicated track car, and the M2CS will take its place as a 3-season weekend cruiser until the 1M gets tired, probably in 10 years. By then, I'll be 57 and will be happy to retire my left foot from track duty.
I need advice!
