Yeah i only use sport+ throttle as soon as it's warm.
Why bother with half way? Steering is more subjective, but for me sport is "normal" natural feel. Comfort is for old ladies parking, sport+ is like stirring porridge and for guys who work out too much... |

"juddering" or "jumping" in Sport+?
I've got an M2C and have noticed that when in Sport+ mode and you accelerate reasonably hard (not excessively, foot not on the floor - max 50% depressed) from a standing start the car "judders". It's not just in first gear but can happen as the car cycles through the first few gears (gearbox on auto).
I've had a look across a few forums and explanations vary from something wrong with the car that needs to be looked at to other that say it's a normal issue if too much throttle in such an aggressive engine mode. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced that? Thanks |

Thank you for your reply. It's not DSC kicking in or wheel slippage. Is like the car is "stable" but jerking forward. Almost as if I'm feathering the throttle but I'm not. So the car jerks forwards and then pauses and then jerks forward and then pauses etc...

At 50% throttle in S+ i get slippage (depends on the road too, which all suck around here), but yes, generally in 1st and 2nd, it feels jerky, but smooths out nicely once in 3rd and beyond

This brings up a question I've had since owning the car. In the 1m there was a sport button. It did nothing more than change the amount of throttle applied. So if you depressed the throttle say 20% it produced 50% throttle. There was no actual power increase though, it simply removed the ability to finely modulate the throttle. For that reason a lot of 1m folks didn't use it.
The M2 seems different though. The Sport button genuinely makes the car feel faster to me. It feels like it accelerates harder. Is that correct? The Sport + button doesn't feel like it's any more powerful than Sport mode. It simply plays the throttle trick were 20% depressed pedal results in 50% throttle application. Maybe I'm wrong on all of this. Someone educate me! |

And it does give you different throttle mapping for Sport and Sport+ HOWEVER it also makes the engine significantly less laggy in sport and sport+. Eco mode feels like an old-school turbocharged car. Floor it and there's a good second or two delay until the turbos spool. In Sport+ that delay is much smaller. I tend to not push the car in the corners too much in eco mode for this reason, i'm worried that if i put the car into MDM or TCS off mode and the turbo spooled mid corner, it could catch me out. Sport and Sport+ provide a much more linear power curve, despite their exaggerated throttle inputs. |

M1 = Sport+/Sport+/MDM (daily drive mode)
M2 = Sport+/Sport+/DCS off (hardly ever used, maybe some day). I only drive it in the regular modes for a few seconds if I forget to double press the M1 button, cause you know, I'm sort of a bad ass

Its the second menu item (date is first) on the BC, and fortunately the car defaults to the last setting. This is what I want to see until the car is warm.

M1: Comfort Steering / Sport Motor (daily)
M2: Comfort Steering / Sport+ Motor / MDM Mode (canyons) Rarely do I use the Sport/Sport+ Steering. I find it overly weighted most times. Side note: The exhaust pops are starting to bother me. (BMW, WHY DID YOU DO THIS?) |

The pops are a bit stupid if you ask me. I'd rather have overall better sound and exhaust over the dumb pops too. I'm not some dumb 24 year old driving around (no offense to you 24 year olds)

Untick most OBC info options in the iDrive settings menu = less scrolling through OBC info you're not interested in.
