Those are your words, not mine. I never said the M2 was boring because it was slower. You were the one who said anything above the M4 is a boat.....which is the most ridiculous statement in this whole thread.

I want a car that's supercar fast as soon as I hit the gas (that handles like it's on rails). Sorry, to me (and 98% of the population)....a car with 600 HP and 2.8 0-60 time is going to be much more fun than a car that is significantly slower....even if it's a manual. The M5 is the standard of the sports sedan and always has been. It has way more heritage than a damn 2 series.

My middle of the range, diesel, auto, SUV, X3 has the same 0-60 time as an open-gated manual, V8, Ferrari 348. I know which I'd rather take up an Alpine pass.

Yep, good day, enjoy your entry level "sports car". Go try telling a 911 owner about your sports car and see what they say. 😆

Regarding size, there are plenty who want a smaller more tossable car and not a large, heavy car - regardless of the luxury they're giving up.

Then get what you want and move on. Why try so hard to convince others who clearly don't share your opinion. Who cares what they like or buy. It's as if you're actually trying to validate your choice to yourself, or just simply troll the m2 crowd.

If you really do feel the need to convince others that the 8 series is better, you'd get further by speaking about your experience(s) with the car, and what impresses you about it. It would be even better if you compare that with any experience you have with the m2, and why it didn't meet your expectations. Regardless, you'd contribute much more with an informative, interesting post instead of crapping on the m2.

It's like when candidates running for public office spend all of their energy telling us what not to like about their opposition, but never get around to telling us what they are about, or want to do. They have no agenda except to drag someone else through the mud. Then they wonder why no one is interested.

I owned most ///M cars including F90 M5 and last month I picked M2C MT

I have to say M5 is brutally fast and handles great for the size but the M2 is just phenomenal car.

Beautifully balanced and the MT is cherry on the cake

At first you treat the curbs like bumpers in bowling.. it's so bad in fact rental car companies circle rash with yellow paint before they rent them out to international's and charge people for wheels and damaged tires. You get used to it thought eventually just hope it's before you get involved in a head on..

I'll stick with my choices. Best of both worlds, both with usable back seats.

One is a MT, one is an AT, that is way better then the DCT my past M4ZCP... (start the flame war).... I'll let you guess which is which.

The M2 isn't a full-on sports car, but it's a hell of a lot closer than an M5 lol. I drove a couple laps in an M5C on track last year right after driving an M4 ZCP and the mass of the M5 is quite noticeable as is the numb feeling in comparison. The M2 feels even better than the M4. No one is arguing which is faster. If you don't understand feel then please just stick to your executive sedans. I'm sure your 4500lb AWD automatic transmission sedan is more of an M car than an M2, lol. How clueless can one be?

The M2/M3/M4 are the heaviest BMWs I would ever consider buying.
Great, you drove a M5 for basically 5 minutes and know it all.

WTF is the point of mentioning how heavy something is? Especially when it's faster. 0-60, 0-100.....what does it matter? It's a second minimum slower then these big boats. Then WTF are you paying $60k for? A "sports car" that really isn't that fast....let alone what other cars you could get for $60k. If you are going to pay $60k for an extra level M car, at least get one that competes with the competition.

Stop acting like a friggin M2 is BMW's crown jewel. Oh, wait, you drove a couple laps in a M5 once.

I hope your being sarcastic...
You're missing his point... it's about feel, and fun. M2C has it all over the M5 in those categories. You like the M5, good for you, but it doesn't have the feel, it's a boat, great if you put lots of highway miles on it. Pretty much what the guys both said in the video. I've driven M3's, M4's and M5's, and IMHO, nowhere near as much fun as my M2C.

The real insight kicks in a few mins from the end. Prepare for minds to be blown:-

- M8 more of a GT car
- M2 more fun weekend car
- MXdrive provides stability and confidence in the wet

Agreed!
Here in Canada there's barely a $35k price difference between the M8C and the R8.. hands down all day long I'd take the R8 if I'm into a car for $200k +

M2C is as pure as you can get these days. It's an amazing ride. Steering can still improve though.
