I don't know why they would add Adaptive Suspension to the M2C in its last model year and without a price increase. Just doesn't make business sense. They will probably leave the M2C as is in its last model year. Plus they do not want the M2C in 2021 taking sales away from the new G Series M3 and M4. If you want the Adaptive Suspension and Carbon Bits in an M2 then go for a M2 CS.

thats what I guessed roughly it would be. make sure to add in mark up also since most dealers will get 0-1 of them if production numbers are super limited

All good points but a few other things; the Adaptive Suspension is a $1,000 option on the M4 before it became standard with the CP.

If they want to offer it, it doesn't have to be as much, since the technology cost has already spread across the other models and the the blueprint for the M2 is already there from the CS.

They now make soooo many models that step on each other, in the form of competition, I don't believe they care what you purchase, as long as it's a BMW, Mini Or Rolls Royce because it all goes back to the same shareholders and heirs.

If they trying to entice a few holdouts of this M2 generation before the model end, Adaptive Suspension is a nice treat to offer.

on the price. That's a lot for sure.

No confirmation of how many the US is getting though...

So much money for an old platform. Crazy money for a 2 series and then even crazier money for the new 2 series, all created so that BMW can hike up prices on 3 series and 5. They are following MB and it will work!

Respectable dealers don't mark up regardless of the model. Mine received one M4 GTS and sold it at MSRP.

$90k which includes 6% PA tax is out of my budget. Does this particular model deserve a ~$33k premium over my OG? Me thinks not.

I am looking at it the same way - you're in the low 90s out the door with taxes, fees, and a DCT. The only way you (might) be able to stay under 90 out the door is with the manual and no other options.

Now the real question is whether or not some of these CS goodies will be available on the M2C. If I could get the CF roof (and maybe the adaptive suspension) on an M2C, well then, now you're talking....

There isn't a single BMW on the planet that is worth Porsche money.

You can get a Cayman 718 GTS for the same price. Anyone that picks the M2 CS over that needs counseling...

I would if I could; a 2020 Porsche GTS, the way I would spec it is topping out at $115,000.

Porsche money is a lot more and I'm sure BMW factored in the potential competition.

M Performance CF Front Splitter $1,690
M Performance CF Hood $6,440
M Performance CF Roof $3,205
M Performance CF Mirror Caps $988
M Performance CF Rear Spoiler $563
M Performance CF Rear Diffuser $1,160
M Performance 763M Wheel and Tire Set $5,870

Total $83,511
And all that "stuff" does not include BMW labor to install OR the driving and performance of this car over the comp. People did the same thing and bashed the M3CS for its pricing. I argued the same points. They are both worth the MSRP asking price when you consider everything involved in building a true CS car. . And many paid 10 to 20k under for the M3 CS. I do not think we will see those kind of discounts with M2 CS even tho their are 2,000 being produced as opposed to 1200 of the M 3 CS.

Too expensive, IMO... it's not apples to apples but I'd take a 981 GT4 over this for the money... you can find several clean examples for low-to-mid 80s now.

Honestly, they should have just released the M2 like this from the get-go; charged $63-65k and left it at that.

a 718 GTS is getting you to 115K? Most of the lot cars around me are in the 90+ range, but not that high.

I have restarted my search for a cherry 981 GTS. I recently test drove the 718 GTS and it was very, very good...the exhaust note was better from the driver's seat than I would have thought too. But the rumor is that a detuned version of the new 718 GT4 engine will make its way into the GTS models...so I am thinking I will hold off on the 718 for the time being.

My buddy in DC got ~15% off sticker for their new 718 GTS - FWIW if you can find a car on a lot that you like.

You can probably get a lightly used 911 or 911s for the same money......or get a nicely optioned C8 Z51 2LT. Even a Cayman GTS makes more sense. Maybe even a Camaro ZL1 if you can manage to see out of it.

Let's be real...even a 718 S is a better car than this M2 CS. The M2 CS is just a M Perf parts bin special. Nothing unique about it at all. The 718 is a track scalpel. One of the best cars on the planet to drive.

Let's not even begin the used car discussion....You can get a 2017 991.2 S certified with low mileage for around $85K-$90K as well. Again, this M2 CS is simply not worth the price no matter how you slice it.

People who say "...for Porsche money" need to fully understand what goes into that statement.

Sure it is Porsche money for the "base" Porsche cost. And as we all know, nobody really specs out a Porsche as "base". There are so many nickel and dime options that are typically standard in other models. All said and done, there is still quite a bit of delta between the BMW and Porsche equivalent.

Therefore, in terms of pricing strategy, BMW has determined that $83.6K is possibly a stretch, but still attainable, while the Porsche, you will be seriously going to another price bracket all together.

Where I see competition on this price is with other entirely different models. For example, me personally I would consider the Mercedes GLE 450 or BMW 8 series grand coupe 840i. Sure, it's not a direct performance competitor, but it's fighting towards these more luxurious products. I know I'm not alone cross shopping these disproportionate options.

Of course I could be wrong, but I highly doubt they would do that and take away one of the only meat and potato advantages of the CS over the C.

Thank you, you conveyed it better that I ever could..

A Porsche cost real money, a BMW you can stretch your budget and maybe sleep in your car for a couple of months but it's still attainable, for a fully spec model.

Not taking anything from either vehicle but there is levels to this ish..
