In this video is mentioned (02:35-02:40) that the M2 CS laps the Nürburgring Nordschleife 8 seconds faster than the M2 Competition.
If officially confirmed as accurate, this means a ± 7:44 lap time for the M2 CS. BMW M lap times (source: here)

There are dozens of videos out there with sound bites of M2C exhaust notes so the sound should be no secret. That being said, the exhaust note can be enhanced quit a bit even on a stock car by adding a tune with GTS roar, custom burbles and exhaust valves open in Sport and Sport+ modes. It is next to impossible to judge exhaust note using a cheap microphone to record and then playing it back on a phone speaker.

I've listened to a couple M4cs at my dealership at cold and warm and it sounds amazing!!!
I just can't believe that the M2cs is going to really sound that bad??? I'm hoping it was just a bad video recording and that it will sound more like what we are all hoping for! |

The M2 CS exhaust sounds like something is stifling its sound - and more than likely it's the Euro Gasoline particulate filters.
The US-spec version will have a different tone. Beside the sound factor, it sucks that new, performance vehicles have to be so suppressed.. And also ironic that the US didn't also just abroad in neutering the exhaust, since they usually lead the pack, in tree-hugging, emissions regulations and after the VW scandal, few years ago.. |

The underside of the m3cs looks ratchet compared to M2CS. Like a Middle school STEM my first carbon fiber experience class.
