Got invited for an exclusive preview of likely the BMW M2 CS (Sep 2019 - Brussels)

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Got an invitation to preview the latest M model.
Advertised as a very limited edition, featuring light carbon fiber, unique interior and equipments inspired by racing. Preview second half of September (in Brussels), claimed to be 6 months before the official launch.

What else could it be than the M2 CS ?

More info on the event by moderator Artemis:

I'll let you know if it's the G80 M3 or M2 CSL instead of the M2 CS.

If you got suggestions what to look for or what to ask during the event, let me know in the comments in this thread.

That would be funny as hell.

What's your background regarding history with BMW purchases, etc. I'm curious about the demographic that's receiving the invites. You're the second person to post.

I doubt I'll get an preview. I got a call from BMW to solicit feedback on my recent M2 Comp purchase, I said it was awesome and won't be trading it up for anything new including the CS....damn it.

I have a 1996 E36 M3 (345,000 kms), a 2005 E46 M3 pack competition (160,000 kms) and a 2018 M2 Competition (17,000 kms) . I bought the M3s new and still have both of them today. The M2C is a leased car though (with a purchase option at end of the leasing) ...preferred to lease that one since I was not sure that a turbo engine would be my cup of tea.

The mail says clearly limited edition (see below but sorry it is in French) so cannot be the M3

So curious what your thoughts are on the M2C? And how they compare to your older cars.

Could have added that both M3 are Individual car, paint for the E36, paint plus leather for the E46

Very recently, another Belgian forum fellow also received an invite:

M2C pros :
- Brilliant chassis, nimble, fun to drive in the twisties
- Excellent driving position/seat
- Great manual gear box... even getting used to the auto blip downshifting that I initially hated
- Low/mid range torque
- Fast
- Looks, especially the front part

M2C cons :
- Exhaust note
- Underwhelming in normal driving conditions, only fun when pushed
- Cheap material for dashboard/central console. Seat rubbing on the console in left turns
- Cheap dakotta leather (feel terrible in comparison to the Individual Nappa leather on my E46)
- Small gas tank

The M2C is definitely a great modern M car. It is faster but however less engaging and exciting to drive than my older M cars. The engine is playing a key role here. The rev. build-up , the eagerness for the high rev. and the sound of the normally aspirated engine are a big part of the soul of the older M cars. Perfect throttle response also allow a more precise control of the car. The other key point is that you feel better connected to the road in the older M. Unfortunately every new generation of M car (E36 better than E46) has made the things worse for this aspect.

Yep CS is shown early next year so this totally fits. Interesting you got an invite like that.

I believe that all people who did buy a M2C in Belgium/Luxembourg got it. I got mine through the Lux dealer where I leased the M2C, not through my Belgium dealer where I bought and still maintain the M3s.

Note also that it is not a single day preview, it is over a 10 days period where the car will be showned in , I guess, a dedicated and secured room. You just need to register and then can come at anytime during the opening hours of the BMW Brand Store in Brussels.

Well, everyone that is going, please take good notes. I'd like to know if the interior feels nicer with the added materials. My impression is that if they spruced up the dash material it could make the interior appear more premium. Hood like M4 CS? m performance carbon fenders? Does the CS seem more special than an M2C with a bunch of mperformance parts added to it.

Check out the alcantara and carbon fiber. Also look to see if the car is more aggressive than M2C and OG M2. However main thrill of this car is driving thrills not interior.

BMW Benelux did this before with the 1M didn't they? Alpine White IIRC although it was much closer to launch than the M2 CS is currently.
