What sort of Mpg does everyone get?
I know its a performance car and MPG isn't a real factor, but I'm just curious what everyone gets as i would be coming for an AMG A45 which does really well considering its 384 bhp. I do short runs to work everyday so its really hard on the mpg but take the car for runs as much as possible. I get 17-18 round town and 30 on a run, a little more if i am really boring.
Also, what's the ride like? I have adaptive dampers at the minute but its still firm, which i like, but just a little too jiggly, never feels composed and compliant. Thanks for any help. |

in my 2016 manual can get 30-31mpg on motorway runs. Town is 17-19 probably.
Ride is jiggly more compliancy would be nice. Saving for litchfield AST coilovers. are you looking at M2COMP or non comp? |

20-25mpg mixed driving. Commute to work etc.
80-90% motorway, you can get up to 35+ on a long run if you're lucky. I've done South Yorkshire, to Surrey and back, about 375 miles on a full tank. |

20-25 av mixed town and rural.
Ride is stiff but compliant, good body control. No need for variable dampers, they are shite. Just 3 modes , none of which are any good. M2C has one mode that just works. I had an M6GC before, no grumbles from missus or kids re M2C ride quality so that's a good sign. |

I think I get 12mpg or so with my OG M2. But I drive in a city for about 1-2 miles each time. And every time I am giving it at least 3/4 throttle, shifting no sooner than 4500rpm, in DCS Off mode. Mine is also FBO+ and BM3 Stg2.
I have KW coilovers (set stiffer than they recommend) and Dinan sway bars now. One road here, they replaced the sewer pipes on. Tore up the road and did a crappy job of repaving it. I can't drive over it faster than 25mph without bouncing all over in the seat. My other car can easily take those same bumps at 35mph+. Other than that, the car feels very smooth on the other roads here. That rough section wasn't there when I had OEM suspension, but I don't believe it would've been nearly as bad. I never noticed the car being bumpy or stiff, it felt smooth on every road I was on. |

I'm around mid to high 20s with 80% motorway in my M2C.
Rides better than my M4 Competition did.

Daughter (14) and petrolhead girlfriend both firmly agree that the M2C is far nicer, yet firmer. Seats are more comfortable (and firmer), ride is more composed. Still running mine in, but added another 300miles over the weekend, mostly motorway but some flowing cross country as well, and averaged 28.3mpg....the return leg home from Hemel Hempstead to Kent wasn’t a slow drive either The only thing that’s not better than the M5 is the piddly fuel tank....jeeeezus I’m filling this thing up every time I go out in it! 255miles to that last tank. Thankfully although it’s my daily driver, I don’t use it daily for commuting into work, otherwise it would get annoying. |

Yep i don't use mine for work either.
If you think The tank is too small now wait will you're run in and getting below 20mpg on a blast. I tend to fill up whenever i pass a shell station even if I'm only half full. Avoids getting caught short.. |

(ETA - Yep, the transmission ratios are the same > 4.81 (1st), 2.59 (2nd), 1.70 (3rd), 1.28 (4th), 1.00 (5th). 0.84 (6th), 0.67 (7th)....but the F10 M5 had a final drive of only 3.15:1, versus the M2C at 3.46:1. Quite a bit shorter) Last edited by spenny_b; 01-15-2020 at 05:17 PM.. |

Yeah i wouldn't expect the M2 to pull such tall gears as the F10.
TBH i rarely use 6th or 5th for that matter. And if i use 6th I'll bypass 5th. I run it up to 3rd/4th for all but motorway / DC, then straight into 6th for brain off cruising 70+, which thankfully isn't very often. It'll do 30-140 in 4th so 50/60/70 i just stay in 4th, then 3rd for overtake. I find 6th a bit depressing lol. Probably why i have such poor mpg. But i didn't buy it to save the planet.
