OEM Carbon Diffuser?

hello guys,

bought this one in the classifieds but the part number for our car is not matching (its supposed to be 51192361666)

Does anyone recognize this diffuser or know why the part number is different or if its even OEM, looks extreme close to it if not?

Ya... I don't see that part number anywhere. If it's a copy, it's a really good copy.

Thanks yea, I couldn’t find anything with any of those markings and the fact that is exactly like the oem part is what has me confused lol.

I found that number (51122361665). Looks like it was superseded by the new number (51192361666). BMW does this on the same parts often.

You are fine. I just got my rear diffuser. Warm warm weather. That's what I need.

Easy DIY? Do I need special tool for pop rivets?

No special tool required. It helps to have a small plastic pry tool but not required. The clips can be really tricky. I took off the panel between the muffler and the back of the diffuser to access the clips. Made life way easier!

Installed today, damn those middle clips were a pain in the ass...I would highly recommend putting it on ramps or a lift and removing the heat shield screws making things easier to access.

If you do this it will be a 30 job at most, otherwise you’ll be back and forth trying to pry the damn thing off lol.

The clips are pretty straight forward, the more tension they are under the harder they are to unclip so if you push in on the stock diffuser as you are trying to release the clips it makes it easier

Good luck lol
