Rear seat delete ?.
To those who have done a rear seat delete....did you happen to weight the seat bottoms and backs ? I’d guess close to 50 lbs. for both.
EDIT: the two seat back panels and seat bottom came in at 45 lbs total using a bathroom scale. The two small side panels on either side are easily another 5 lbs. obviously that will be offset by whatever I come up with to clean up what was the rear seating area. EDIT #2: Just noticed this....so..pretty good guess. http://https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/showpost.php?p=24363384&postcount=5259 . Last edited by M2C AW; 02-11-2019 at 10:03 PM.. |

has anyone found a source for a rear seat delete that doesn't include the roll cage?
Everything Ive found and asked about requires you to purchase it as a "pkg". I'm not looking to install a cage at this point, but do want to fins some sort of tasteful way of covering up the seats being pulled. Anyone?

or https://ind-distribution.com/product?sku=RKP-F87-M2-RSD might be other options for sale elsewhere, I dunno. Or you can go cheaper and make it out of cardboard. Hold them on with velcro. And either paint them black. Or line them with alcantara with spray adhesive. |

My car just finished production. So I'm 6+ wks out....
Soon after taking delivery I'm going to see a friend of mine who will fit a RSD Kit in my car with a carbon fiber "look" If interested PM me so I can gauge demand and see if they want to make this a for sale kit.. HAZMAT

https://sternperformance.de/en/home/309-bmw-m2-rear-seat-delete-carpet.html Then you add two arc bars for rigidity plus trunk/cabin divider. https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1441972&page=2 |

If you remove the rear seats but don't install any kind of cage or arc bars, will it negatively affect handling? Do the rear seats add some rigidity, almost like a sway bar, since they span the car? |

I removed them over a year ago, tracked the car a dozen times and no problem...in fact the car is a little quicker with the weight reduction. The other benefit is the ability to carry track wheels and still see out of the back.
