Front only to give some idea of what the official BMW drop looks like.

Is the M performance suspension bouncy as the KW V3?
Any feedback provided will be appreciated.

The damper bodies have a different surface finish, but aside from that I don't know if they are re-valved or not.
The springs are longer and - presumably - softer than the V3s (although still stiffer than stock). The suggested minimum ride height suggests that they might be closer to the mid-point of the damper stroke than the minimum that KW suggest. But, I've not tried an M2 with the V3s, so have no point of reference. HTH |

Installed in early 2017 firstly using OEM setting.
Over a few months, dialed both compression and rebound towards soft end by 3 clicks. Still firm and supports well (even good enough for my track days), but a little too bumpy with road imperfection. But the same can be said to 991.1c2 I used in early 2015. Ride height wise, rear end is lowered to maximum (by about 20mm) and front end adjusted to match the rear. Front can go maybe 10mm further lower, but I prefer a front-rear even setup as is. As it is, it's still noticeably firmer than stock and is about the same firm as KW HAS + OEM damper (I have a close M2 friend using KW HAS, not to be confused with KW coilover, the MP counterpart). Given that Shanghai has better road than most of other top cities around the world, the M2 MP coilover is at the edge of comfort for my taste as daily commuter (1.5 hour a day average in my case). Keep in mind I have a high tolerance for ride firmness. To give things some context, I wouldn't even recommend M2 stock suspension for daily commute with anything less than good road. At the end of day, yes I would do it again.

I drive an M2 Performance Edition that came with the MPS installed from the factory, at the factory recommended ride height. Compared to stock, this is a 10mm drop. On the M2 PE they installed some kind of locking ring that has to be removed to drop the car any further.
I've had the suspension set at multiple different settings, but all for street so far. With the compression opened to 9 (from the stock setting of 6 clicks open) on all four corners the car rode softer, but was also bouncier. A rebound adjustment along with the compression would probably have been appropriate. I've also run the car setup tighter than stock with the compression set to 4 open on the front and 5 open on the rear, again with no rebound adjustment from stock. This honestly didn't feel much different from the stock 6 clicks open setting. Maybe on the track there would be a slight difference on turn-in? Right now I'm back to all stock settings as the front right strut started leaking slightly from the very top. It was covered under warranty so the dealer reset all of the suspension settings and did an alignment. I'm planning a track session and will report back about the settings used and results. |

Looks good - why 5mm spacers though - for aesthetics only or won’t these tyres fit when lowered on MPerf coilovers wo spacers ? Last edited by Bee Pee; 01-01-2019 at 05:33 PM.. |

Aesthetics mostly, and a little peace of mind because the clearance between the tires and springs/shocks is very small with the wider tires and MPS. On the street you would be fine without spacers, but on the track it could be a bit questionable.
