https://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/...ischbereifung/ Google translation : Conclusion Wide makes fast? Yes of course. With a few exceptions in the test disciplines, the wider rear-wheel tires in mixed tires actually increase traction and driving stability. And that's exactly what matters on the road. But more than larger tire widths decide the tuning and quality of the tire over optimal performance in all road conditions. When it comes to overall performance, Conti leaves nothing to be desired and drives the Hankook (235/255) and Goodyear tires at the same level overall. Hankook (235/235), Dunlop and the dry strong Nexen follow, Nokian pats wet. A no-go, because: Rain means the snow in the winter of Central Europe. ....If anyone masters German thanks for a better translation |

I thought it was strange, too, but I have now seen it with my own eyes and they don't look stretched or oddly fitted in any way. Considering that the 235 Michelin Alpin's are basically impossible to get from Tire Rack and other local sources, when I run down the set that came with the wheels, I think there's a very good chance I'll end up putting 245's on them rather than buy tires from the dealership to replace the odd size. I shouldn't have to worry about that for at least 3 or 4 years, though.

Is it possible to run 255 35 19 winter tires all-around on the stock 788M wheels?

That's great that BMW offer winter wheels specifically for the M2 & M2C..
