I am totally perplexed! (Mini Rant)
I am totally perplexed!
The M2C is exactly what everyone asked/complained/begged/whined for. Now everyone is complaining again. Want a fun small daily driver/track car - buy the BMW M2C. Want a fun larger daily driver/track car - buy the BMW M3/M4 and spend more money! Want a fun small lighter car - buy a Porsche and spend much more money! ...or pick another brand. For what you get, the M2C just as much of a steal of a deal as ever. Sorry for the rant |

I don’t get it either. Also, think the weight increase is about overblown as it can get. People act like a thousand pounds were added. In fact, most reviewers seems to think the car is a better handler now. Just look at the reviews, doesn’t seem to be a problem. Frankly, the notion of adding all this equipment between bigger brakes, different motor, superior cooling, won’t increase the weight is absurd to me. I’m not sure expectations were reasonable to begin with.
I would say get the car for what it is. A smaller, fun to drive M car that won’t break the bank. Seems plenty good enough for me. |

I'm similarly perplexed!
Seems like a lot of people expected a 'CSL' package (for the same price lol). In reality we have got an improved M2, which is going to be an incredible amount of fun, and has some good fundamental improvements over the original. BMW have worked well to balance the weight increases, the handling, the performance, emissions regulations and price! |

I sit back, read it all and laugh at it!
The car has everything everyone bitched about it was lacking when it was first launched.. I love the car because of its dimensions and behavior.. loved the original M2, you offer me same package with more power, better brakes, and engine that responds to modifications much better together with all aesthetics updates for 5-6k more? I am sold!! I also see people calculating price difference including the depreciation loss. Both cars MSRP side by side is a small price gap for all you are getting.. hell I see some N55 M2's up in the mid 65-67 range loaded with accessories. Or people expected the original M2 to keep its value like the 1M? Cant wait for Oct timeframe to get mine delivered!

All the issues are pretty much crap, but can be fixed throwing cash at it... except one...
No exhaust change or down pipes for EU cars, which is pretty much shit IMO and potentially a deal breaker for me. The rest we can all deal with, but yeah there are a few little minors that spoil the initial fun. MR |

But look at the major publications. The ones many give a lot of respect for...EVO, AutoCar, AutoExpress, even Pistonheads. They all love the car. This is message 99% of world will be reading at newstands, airports, etc. Remember EVO, AutoEpress, AutoCar don't hand out 4.5 and 5 star ratings like candy. The cars that get those scores earn them. Seriously move on from the car now. Don't dwell on it, make the move to something else. No one likes a negative Nancy and if that is what all your future stories and posts are going to be. It will get old real quick.

You're attacking this car like it killed your dog, quit drinking from the one negative review Kool-Aid. Enjoy the 20 other reviews that universally love the car. Last edited by hellrotm; 07-30-2018 at 11:17 AM.. |

I want to see some U.S. based reviews.
To my understanding the U.S. M2c do not come with the gasoline particle filter. These should be some tuning difference between U.S. and Euro spec cars. Also, people that are waiting to purchase an M2c. I advise you guys to get a M2c ASAP as the 2020 MY U.S. spec cars will most likely come with a GPF.

Or Get the last stock of the Coupe Alfa 4C as this is the last year of the coupe production and basically you are getting a race car that is cheaper the M2 |

Or just get a Cayman GT4/718 GTS/718 GT4 and not worry about depreciation and having an overall better car to begin with.
Regardless, you're getting a good deal with the M2 Comp. Small, big power, etc. But it has its compromises in stock form. It's a 60k car, it's not going to get all the fancy touches.

MR[/QUOTE/] Just wondered if you can explain in brief what the dtime am is with the exhaust and downpipe issue for EU cars. I’m due my car (week 39) and I want to upgrade the exhaust to the M performance |
