ohlins install question
Hi friends, 10 weeks of waiting and I got the Ohlins , but i have question?after installation i have the same height as the stock car.Ohlins says With both the preload and height adjustments in their recommended positions, the vehicle
is lowered approximately 10 mm when compared to the original suspension. This is specific kit for m2.Installed according to the instruction Ohlins for bmw m2.Somebody install a similar.Thank you in advance. |

Install can be done to Ohlins specs and assuming the kit is the proper kit for the M2(with rear springs and shocks which are correct for the m2 and not just an m3/m4 kit) then your car will be lower. We just installed a kit a few weeks ago and it lowered the car when set to the specs on the Ohlins pamphlet

Hello friends, I need help, who can measure the original m2? From the edge of the disk to the beginning of the wing, like I have at the top in the photo. Front and back. Thanks in advance.

My oem data was 625 mm from the edge of the disk to the wing all round. With Ohlins recommended settings, I got drop of less than 5mm in the photo up.I set the parameters myself, then Ohlins changed the settings and they coincided exactly with my setting

I had mine installed Sunday and had a similar issue with front looking too high, but the measurements were good on all 4 wheels. My kit came with manual for BMS MP40 (the part number for the F80/F82), then I downloaded a manual that had 115mm for the front, and then again downloaded one from Ohlins site and the setting for the front shows 118mm. They have definitely changed it a few times, lol. I am letting mine settle but based on what I've read and how we set it up, I am leaning to leaving it as is. The handling and feel of the car is amazing. Appreciate your response on my necropost |

You may want to look into corner balancing. And then look at ride height. I did this all after letting the suspension settle (350 miles or so)? I'm sure it will settle more after a few track days or more driving.
Here is my corner balanced ride height and adding a bit of height for the street |

That looks good! Thanks for the suggestion, I might do corner balance. Trying to schedule it all next week before a trip. |
