Love it. Had it for about 2 months now. Easy on and off and great build quality.

Does anyone have any issues with the plate hitting the bumper? The screw poke through quite a bit that the rubber bumpers included would be too short to prevent any contact.

Fenix, make sure your neighbor with the grey car (hitch + carrier) doesn't back into you and you should be good.
Seriously, your option is to buy shorter screws (hard to find) or add a plate frame to prevent the screws from protruding, but the backing nuts could still hit when pushed hard. |

I will try to find shorter screws, I don't want to put a frame around it but that would take up the excess length. In the meantime, I used some double sided tape to add some length to the rubber bumpers and placed it just below the screw. As long as no one gives bumps it, it looks like it should be OK.

Apparently they changed the design shortly after I got mine in late Nov - my Carbonio bracket only has two screws at the bottom holding the plate on. I put the two rubber-like 'bead' things close to the top of my plate towards the middle - if the plate gets pushed up against my bumper, those two 'beads' touch it gently, and I don't have screw-backs threatening it.

You might laugh at this, but do you try to just use a black Jiffy marker on them? A couple of coats might be good to go. It's worked for me before on similar projects. Worst case, it fades after a while. Or just Plasti Dip them.

They look pretty good, if only they were black. I was at Home Depot yesterday and found some white ones but will continue to search.

Is the license plate mounted on the Carbonio mount in its upper position as high as it goes? It looks sort of odd to me, halfway covering the grill, halfway over the bumper...
And the lower position looks odd too, with the plate halfway over the bottom of the lip... is that as high as it goes too? I'd be worried it'll scrape all the time that low. Which position did most of you with the Carbonio mount go with? I'm leaning towards the Sto N Sho from a looks perspective, even though it might require a drill hole. . |

https://www.ebay.com/itm/6mm-M6-x-1-...53.m2749.l2649 For each screw, I am using two M6 nylon washers that are 1.5mm thick, between (1) the screw and the plate and (2) the plate and the Carbonio mount: https://www.ebay.com/itm/U-S-Seller-...53.m2749.l2649 This way, there are no excess lengths at all. I then added silicon bumpers behind the top screws, so that there is no hard contact with the bumper. So much work for for a damn license plate mount |

Weather Strip or plastic tubing
I cut a small piece of weather stripping that is sticky on one side and foam on the other. That way, if and when the air pushes the plate against the bumper, it hits the foam. I also cut a short piece of clear vinyl tubing, sliced it down the middle, and placed it over the plate for extra buffering. Works well.

I just got mine last week and installed it. Fantastic!
Carbonio now include two self-adhesive rubber bumpers to affix on the mount to protect the bumper. |

after mounting the carbonio on the grills and with the plates 3Med on it. How do you remove the mount say for photoshoot purposes? do u unscrew from the side? or loosen the screw and unhook the mount from the grills?

Trickiest part for me was dropping the bracket behind the grill. You have to hold it when screwing/unscrewing it, or it's easy to fall off behind the grill (after which you need tiny fingers to fish it out). I like the fact that when you remove the front plate, there is no bracket left behind. Really like this mount, have never loved tow hook mounts due to the offset nature. |

I'm late to the thread, but can someone comment on the order the bolt, washer, nut go through the two frame pieces? From outside to inside, is it Bolt, washer, frame piece 1, spider washer, and then frame piece 2? I took mine apart and now don't recall how it was put together...duh. |

I would think the spider washer goes first so that it binds the bolt when you tighten it. The regular washer goes between frames pieces.
