I forgot to mention that you drive BMWs M cars including an M2 and an M5 not your own car.

I did this event last year (half day) and it was fun and worth the cost and time. However, they determine what cars you drive in the activities. Last year was M3/4 on track, M2 short autocross, drag race with X5/6M, M550i, M760i. Track speeds did get quite fast and potentially full speed depending on the drivers in your group. No real track instruction though so lots of people who were just winging it.

Dan, thanks for the heads up about this post - I never think to look in the regional forums!
Anyone have insight into The Ridge? My track experience is limited to Mid-Ohio (which I love). |

The Ridge is a great track and best of Western WA/OR options. I'm not sure it's worth traveling long distance to attend the M-Track day though unless you do full day. Good track to do a day at with your own car but I would recommend some instruction to get to know the line even if you're seasoned.

I attended the one by Porsche couple years ago, same kind of step up but it was even free of charge, still pretty cheezy. For those who is already driving M cars, how about the actual HPDE events for around the same price or less?

Audi Club NA event is around the same price as half day M track day for the full day... (own car, tires, and brakes, of course )

I think the only option is 101 and then head towards Olympia.

It was a fun half day. We started off with a modified drag race. The time was from the start to when you stopped in a stop box. So it included acceleration and braking but only at the last minute. If you broke too late and ended out of the start box, you lost. We got to try an M5, M4, X5M, X3 M40, and an M3.
Next we did follow the leader laps. First in an M4 and then in an M3C. The laps were as fast as the group could go. We had a leader and three followers. Every lap the followers would change position so that everyone got at least one lap behind the leader. Guys, these laps were fast with us hitting well over 120 mph in the straight always. It was a challenge keeping up to the leader. The track itself was outstanding. It was much more interesting than Pacific Raceway. Each car had a one way radio in it so that you could hear driving instructions from the leader. Next we did a small autocross in the M2s. They were OG M2s not M2Cs. These laps were timed and results were displayed for the entire group at lunch. Last we rode with an instructor doing “hot” laps in the M3C. These laps were with all the nannies off and they drifted almost every corner. It was unbelievable how much tire smoke was on the track. All in all, a fun 1/2 day. I forgot to mention that they split the participants into four groups. Everyone started at a different activity and then rotated to the next. The “hot” laps were last for everyone. |

I assume that the full day had more track time with the morning similar to the 1/2 day event.
Glad you guys had fun. I wanted to sign up for a full day but I was too late and only 1/2 days were available. It was nice seeing the orange DCT M2C on display at the event. It was too bad that they didn’t have M2Cs for us to drive. |
