And, this comparison makes me want the M2C front end even more.

Artemis,

I recall on BMW's website it said something along the line that all M cars had an "A" type front fascia. I can't find it now, but that was a really cool insight into M car design and something I never noticed before. Really helped me distinguish from a distance an M car "A" fascia from say an "M Sport" car which has the same design except upside down "". Do you remember that?

UPDATE: Applies to the E85 (Model Year 2006) and later models. Thanks to Law for pointing this out.

E90 was so elegant

Also after comparing I don't know how much I love those 3 vents in the middle of the bumper on the M2C

E9X. Subtle yet aggressive.

The E92 and the E60 M body styles are some of BMWs best. Although the newer M's are nice, I still love the way those M's looked.

F9X probably the most legit (no unnecessary flaps) but the F90 M5 looks angry.

Definitely looks good - but when compared to the newer designs, looks a little softer to me now if that makes sense. Not necessarily bad, just an observation.

one of best looking, sounding car IMO is m3 e46 csl.. not that I dont love e92 (m and gts both) or m4 and m4gts, its just, when I see m3 e46 or csl, I melt.. that is one best looking and sounding M car ever made

i mean, every bmw sounds great, especially comparing to amg and rs, but e46 has one of best sounds in automobile history (my opinion) and for 6cyl enginge, forcsure, No.1 sound

Maybe we should also add more fins to the roof like the Evo 8 and a few extra body vents that do nothing.

What purpose do they serve? Nevermind what a pain in the ass they will be to clean all of the bug guts out of.

Prefer new look fangs. That is the one thing that always bothered me about the base M2. The fangs were too large, not proportional to the rest of the car.

Agree with this completely. The old M2 fangs were too big for my tastes. The new one tones it down and looks better IMO.

The same purpose the M mirrors and side gills serve? Same purpose the powerdome serves on the carbon fiber hood? Why can’t it just be part of the design...
