M2 IPE Exhaust
Hey everyone. Just about to order a new exhaust for my M2 and I think I'm going to go with IPE titanium exhaust. Keen to get your thoughts on this choice and whether anyone else on the forum has the same exhaust installed on their M2!

IPE isnt the best for the 6pot, yeah it looks cool but there are better options out there, depends how much you're willing to spend, the Akrapovic is awesome, but if you like the stock then get the M Performance then get a HJS or Akra DP and you're sorted! FI also a good shout.

And I've heard all 3 in person, and I own an FI exhaust, after hearing how intoxicating it is, but if your not after something obnoxiously loud, stay away from these 3, but also, the Army, and IPE just don't sound too good in my opinion. And those 2 specifically have had a lot of valve failures. I went with Fi because all stellar reviews, and yet to read any valve failure, although still newish company (2012). |

Can you explain why in your opinion IPE is not good on the M2? I've heard the Fi in person and it's just too loud for me to be honest. But in particular on the IPE, I'm keen to understand why you think it's shit.

The IPE, has a very raspy note to it, make it sound similar to the S55 motor in the F8X M3/4. Also the tips look atrocious. It doesn't bring out the note of the N55 that well. Which is unfortunate as the N55 is a decent sounding engine. If you think FI is atrociously loud, wouldn't recommend IPE/ARMYRRIX, as their all equally loud. The mufflers all do a pretty good job bringing the volume down when the va les are closed. This is just my opinion. I researched for 1 year, and waited for IPE to release the M2 before deciding which I wanted after hearing them all in person, rev, WOT, drive by, in cabin, etc. etc. |
