Angel eyes on LCI ?
Do these exist on the LCI equipped with adaptive LED's ? If so are they on all the time or do they have to be activated ? My dealer knows nothing about the subject.

Oh good. Thanks ! I couldn't find any mention of them in the handbook. Are they referred to in "Settings" as Angel Eyes or as something else ?

LCI's Adaptive LED headlights come with "angel eyes" in the form of hexagon. it follows the new BMW's design language.

There are places that DRL's aren't mandatory? Jesus they have been law since the late 80's here - almost 30 years!...how are these not mandatory everywhere by now?
"Canada's Motor Vehicle Safety Act (MVSA) and its Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations (MVSRs) require that all new vehicles sold in (or imported into) Canada and built after December 1, 1989, be fitted with daytime running lights (DRLs) that turn on when you start the vehicle." Then again, the US still measures in inches/feet/miles...so maybe I answered my own question. |

Well, I can't find any option in iDrive and I don't appear to have any angel eyes either. I do have daytime driving lights. Am I missing something ? Could someone possibly run me through the exact menu in iDrive ?

Maybe there is a miscommunication or misunderstanding because now I am confused. Angel Eyes = Corona Rings = DRL's. Location in IDrive depends on system version. Are you running ID4 or ID5/ID6? |

. Start the engine. If you have these headlight elements on you're fine. To fine tune (side/parking lights or DRL, suppress the high/low beam) you have to master the light switch (to the left of the steering wheel, under the vent). Detailed instructions as well as the iDrive tip you're asking for: "Daytime running lights General information Position of switch: <picture omitted>, <picture omitted>, <picture omitted> The daytime running lights light up when the ignition is switched on. After the ignition is switched off, the parking lights light up in position <picture omitted>. Activating/deactivating In some countries, daytime running lights are mandatory, so it may not be possible to deactivate the daytime running lights. Using iDrive: 1. "My Vehicle" 2. "Vehicle settings" 3. "Lighting" 4. "Exterior lighting" 5. Select the desired setting. Settings are stored for the profile currently used." Can be found here (http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1201088), page 112 (and on). |

There is no off. Automatic, DRL, Parking, Low beams. Though DRL position does do different things in certain countries.

Have you seen the flickering in videos only? If yes, it's due to the camera's refresh rate not syncing up with the LED's. LED's actually turn on and off but the human eye cannot see it, only cameras can. |
