Brake Calipers Turning Green
After a hot track session at Brands Hatch yesterday I have green/brown patches on my front brake calipers. Initial thoughts are it is residual brake fluid coming out of the bleed nipples (had a recent fluid change) as it looks to come from the bleed nipple area and work down. But it could just be heat.
Is there any way to get the colour back? I have washed the calipers but I fear I was too late. My other bigger fear is the fluid is weeping from around the bleed nipple. Simon |

The fluid leaking out happens when you don't clear the nipple of fluid after flushing. Spray water or brake cleaner in there after flushing if you care.
For the general puke green look, not much you can do. Delay it with extra cool down laps. |

My friend's early F80 calipers turned green and they replaced them. My F87 has not turned green but the fronts have darkened a good bit, however they are still blue. I've hammered on them with Pagid RSL1 and Hawk DTC70 on full slicks and NT01's in 95+ heat on some pretty hard braking tracks in TX.

Was just getting ready to post about this. My front calipers have both changed color a medium turquoise color, the rear calipers a still blue. Running SRF and PF 08 pads.

Well I will change out my pads tomorrow and flush the brake fluid later this week, drive around a few weeks and then go have a chat to my dealership and see what they say. Else maybe I will have to look into refurb ... or save for BBK 🙌

Mine started turning green by the fourth track day and are now well on their way towards black. Figure I'll try going to the dealer towards the end of the warranty period, otherwise they will just turn color again next year.

That and have you seen the fancy brake cooling ducts built into the control arms on even the basic model Porsche? THEY take owners tracking their cars seriously.
