You shouldn't be redlining your car regardless. You make peak hp at 6300rpm and should be shifting then. Maybe that's why the gauge is different. To encourage people to shift at peak power levels rather than winding the fuckin thing out.

very true and agree. I shift my gt3 between 8250+/- or less. peak hp is attained there although redline is 9k. However, with a manual as i will will have in my M2 is one wants to attain peak power then shifts should be slightly above peak hp rpm to make up for rpm drop between shifts. DCT/PDK notwithstanding.

If all of this comes for the same price of $52,500 (U.S. Pricing), definitely worth it imo. But if there is another price hike, then it becomes not a bargain since you are essentially paying for these minor "upgrades" which is fine.
I feel like they will price hike though...that seems the most logical to me at this point. |

If we are going to maximize power, we actually need to maximize the amount of power "under the curve." We are using the power over time and not at one specific point in time. Power should be maximized over the time period in use, even if it is fractions of a second. Maximizing power goes a little past peak power levels. The power curve and not the redline would help to calculate how much.

He saìd that he knew as much as I did and didn't have any further info today but should have some more info next week.
He kinda also garantueed that my car would be a LCI, but all I really care about is keeping my original price, or a small amount more. |

Second hand value of pre LCI cars ?
Will we now finally see early 2016 cars drop in price because of LCI launch.
In the U.K lots of dealers with be getting very nervous now that their cars look really second hand! |

I don't think so. This is still a relatively rare hard to get car especially in certain markets. Bmw is technically building enough to "meet demand" but it's uncommon to see them sitting unsold in dealer lots. Plus there aren't huge differences between Pre LCI and LCI version. Cosmetics mostly. Fundamentally it's the same car. I think the 2016 and 2017 models will still retain value as there aren't a lot on the secondary market.

If it does not have grey gauges, I'm sorry but it is not a real M car
Who waited will find a way to justify the wait - called cognitive dissonance - but in reality you either love the new adaptive headlights (which btw you could retrofit) or the wait was really a failure. Not driving an M2 for months just to have access to these differences? LOL. When you have an M2 you will understand it was a baaaaad decision. Ahhh, and don't forget. Soon after you receive the LCI (who is ordering now because waited for this moment) there will be a CS version... ooops. |
