M2 really is the modern M3, it reminds me a lot of my E36M3 but with 100+ HP, and loving how it is simplified or maybe more correct not overly complicated, no adaptive suspension, etc. I might have even selected manual seats if they were an option in the US.

Exactly what I've been telling everyone since the M2 launched; Modern day M3.

He asks (and answers) the question: "So, what if you want your M3 the way they used to be?"
The M2 is exactly what this former E36 M3 and E46 M3 owner was looking for. -scr Last edited by SoCalRob; 01-12-2017 at 04:30 PM.. |

I think they clipped it from the last season of Top Gear and posted it as a separate clip. I definitely remember the silly measuring device and RS3 comparison.
I definitely agree with the sentiment but I didn't find the segment all that funny (but Chris Harris was probably one of the few bright spots in the Clarkson-less Top Gear). |

And I didn't enjoy it either. I was really hoping this clip was new/different, because I thought this was a really goofy review. Ridiculously, Jeremy's M2 review was more serious.

I do too!
“It takes you back to when driving was brilliantly simple…” So says Chris Harris about the BMW M2. Also love that after having an E9x for awhile and after driving the M2.. he went one step simpler.. and bought a 1M .. just found this list of cars he owned circa 2015 .. Since he owns 3 E30s (2 being M3).. not it all makes sense! •BMW E39 523i. •BMW E28 M5. •Range Rover Classic. •322 Range Rover. •Audi S4 Avant. •Peugeot 205 XS. •Citroen AX GT •Peugeot 205 Rallye •1957 citroen CV • E30 M3 sport Evolution • Mercedes-Benz E320 Sportline cabriolet • Ferrari 512 TR • BMW 325i rally car • E30 M3 rally car • Mercedes-Benz E250 CDI seven-seat wagon • Honda SP1 motorcycle Audi RS6 long-term test car https://www.wheelsmag.com.au/feature...car-collection Last edited by M3 Adjuster; 01-13-2017 at 02:47 PM.. |

Why can't the M2 just be the M2? Why does it have to be something else, unless you wish it was called the M3?

lol.. a fake instrument says the old RS3 isn't as fun, and its fait accompli? I'm still trying to get an M2 so its clearly its what I want but its by no means better in all ways. Its just a street car after all so unless you plan to live on the track it has less usable performance. The old RS3 was quicker, and the new one will be quicker yet. In sedan guise, the handling will be more tail happy, and if it isn't a $200 rear sway bar will fix that. I expect the RS3 to come in starting at $54K but time will tell. If I can't get the M2 when I'm in Germany later this year, I'll see if I can get an RS3 and we can drag race
