I wanted to weigh in on this ppf discussion. I live in fl and feel that ppf is an absolute must, if you want to preserve the value of your new car. I've had ppf on my last two cars and it was worth every penny. The highways around here are filled with rock hauling dump trucks and jacked up 4x4's that send flurries of rocks and gravel flying everywhere. The other big issue in fl is lovebugs. Without ppf the front of my cars would be ruined by now. If only I could protect my windshield... I've also had the same film on one of my cars for over 5 years. It hasn't turned yellow and is still in decent shape. The film does eventually get stains from bugs, but at least my paint underneath is safe.
I am #1 on the M2 waiting list at one dealer and #3 at another. Been on the list since April/May. I was hoping to get my allocation this month, but the dealer didn't get one. So I should be getting it in December. I plan to do PCD as well. I will probably throw on temporary protection for the drive down and then have ppf applied locally. |

I see it this way, why spend almost 60k on a car and then second guess if front end protection is needed or not?
I have not thought one second that the money spent in protecting my front end was a waste of money. It protected the car thru the entire trip back from PCD and will continue to protect it regardless if I do much highway or not. I picked up from PCD and 30 min later it was at the installer getting XPEL. Would do again with any new car I buy.

Thanks for the feedback guys! This is my first high-end vehicle so I want to make sure I do the right thing. Looks like I'll start planning to have it wrapped in some way.

Do you not have enough time to have it actually wrapped before you drive back home? I'll have mine have a full-front wrap - full hood, full front bumper, front-fenders, headlights, mirrors, and door edge guards.
I'm taking delivery on a Friday and I'll drop the car off and pick it up Sunday morning to drive back home to Illinois. |
