I think your title is misleading people.
Specifically, this part: "Production starts for February 2016" By placing that wording in the title of the thread, you're floating the notion you have some inside information and you know for a fact that M2 production starts in February. When all you may know is the specific car you ordered (in Europe) will be produced in February. Your title needs to be more factually correct or at least labeled as a guess. |

Can't believe BMW can't throw in Comfort Access on this M car. Pulling out my key to lock/unlock was so last decade.
But everything else looks great!!

Remember Americans, EU-spec cars don't have as much standard stuff as yours. That means the Nav Pro could be standard in the US as well as lighting package and so on.
I'm glad memory seats are an option! Hate them in the 1 Series as they sit higher than manually adjustable ones. Thank you for sharing the list, OP. |

They just took the M4 front and put it on the two series. M2 will not look like that at all.

N55 engine? Has that definitely been confirmed? If so, that's a deal breaker for me. I don't understand why they can't use a de-tuned S55?

I think at Frankfurt we will only see the new 7er and the M4 GTS. Those are the car's BMW AG wants to push at the show. I guess we will have to wait for Detroit or Geneva. ? OP thanks for the ordering info! Dackel

Oh this is not US spec. Why would they put this as news in the first page if the options list has already been leaked for Euro spec?
There I was getting excited to see the US spec options.

Because it would undoubtedly eat into M3/M4 sales. The M4 has a starting price of $65K in the US, offering an M2 with "detuned" motor for almost $15K less would not work in BMW's favor monetarily. The 1M used an N54, no one complained, I suspect it will be similar with the M2.

Yes, that was confirmed awhile ago.
Can't use a de-tuned for obvious reasons. If they did, people would tune in and it would destroy M3/M4 sales. There would be no reason to buy an M3, when you can spend less money get a lighter car with the same engine and get better performance.

This will be a lot different in the USA with more standard equipment and options grouped into packages.
