Exhaust tips size?

Hi all,

Im looking to upgrade my exhaust tips, and when i go to order, the place asks if its 60/63mm inlet or 67/70mm?

Also, whats the process to replace tips? Do u just clamp the new ones on top of the old ones, or do you u have to weld something?

Could you post a link to the thread? I saw threads/posts on painting tips, people mistakenly thinking the M Performance tips would fit, aftermarket customer covers one guy made, but nothing clear after a look after a quick search unless it buried in a thread somewhere.

My recommendation is for you to pick whatever tips you want, and then have a reputable shop install them, as your choices for bolt-on tips are extremely limited, and they're all pretty much weaksauce. The new G80 tips are pretty fantastic, you could start your search there. 4" or nothing for me.

stock M2/M2C/M3/M4 pipes are all 70mm, so you want tips with a 70mm inlet.

The stock tips slide off (may require some force, they're a compression fit), new tips vary if slide/clamp etc.

IMO 4"/101mm tips are too big, but that's just personal preference. I went with a set of Akropovik style ones from Aliexpress (70mm/89mm) without the logos

I think the finish makes a difference with regards to the size. The 98mm brushed Remus tips I had were great, but with a darker tip I prefer the larger 101mm.

I'm aware you're a photographer by trade and I admire some of the pics you've posted. I actually use some of your pics as screensavers . I particularly like the top pic.

Stock M2/M2C/M3/M4 pipes are all 70mm.

The CS is larger so these won't fit.

Sorry but not following. Is the picture of the G80 tips? Do they just slide on? Do you have part numbers?

As always, love the pictures!

The pix above are not of the G80 tips, but I imagine they would be much easier to fit than some, as they are made for BMW already.

I do not have the part numbers.

This is the G80 M3 Competition tip. I believe it's 4" or near it, angled, and black chrome (all my preferences on this car).

Why would anyone want those M2 CS tips anyway? Pretty weaksauce if you ask me. The G80 M3 CS tips kill them.
