Constant starter issues

I seem to have a problem where a starter doesn't last long in my 2008 135i. I've had it replaced 3 times now, and the most recent was about 6 months ago, and now I am having similar problems starting and suspect the starter again.

Is there anything that could be causing starter failures other than bad luck? An electrical problem maybe?

Battery was replaced 6 months ago with the new starter, I've had the battery cable replacement done. No issues with power, all the lights come on, can hear a click when pushing the button but engine doesn't even try to turn over.

Thanks!

When you had all that done did anyone check the alternator?

I can't say 100% since I don't recall asking or it being mentioned but I would hope that was checked (they have been a very good shop).

If the battery charge is fine would the alternator have any impact on starting?

Have you replaced the ground wire on the starter, mine was completely corroded and arching causing starter issues.

I'd also test alternator too.

I don't think so, just dug out the notes the tech left and was as follows:
"Verified no crank condition, checked battery and found battery is discharged and not passing battery test, attempted to jump start but was unsuccessful, performed signal test and found start signal is present at the starter but stater is not engaging. Also found the battery cable from jump point to starter and alternator is badly fatigued and needs to be replaced."

So the battery was new, starter new, and the cable from jump point to start/alternator is new. But no mention of the ground wire. I believe I looked at that in the past as best I could from top-down and didn't notice any severe corrosion.

I can try to find something to poke at it and see if it wiggles or something.
