Full screen Apple carplay
Does anyone know how to make apple CarPlay full screen? I don’t want half of the screen dedicated to reminding me my iPhone is connected. I feel like I’ve tried everything, maybe it’s not possible?

Just had mine done through kubax86 as well. He's very willing to help along the way which is a huge plus.
I only had an older 2013 MacBook Air which has the thunderbolt port, but I did have an Ethernet to Thunderbolt adapter so I hooked up my OBD2 to Ethernet cable through that. I set up Windows 7 on VirtualBox, and it worked well after I figured out the network adapter settings and installed .NET framework (required to run his application). First attempt looked like success but my split screen was still showing (the right side of the split was white/blank rather than the iDrive album art). However, he provided an FAQ which mentions this issue and to rerun the flash. So I did, and all is working now! |

Has anyone with ‘activated fullscreen carplay’ had any problems with servicing (if they try to update idrive)? Eg this post suggests that this can happen with 3rd party carplay activators...

Fullscreen mod for already activated CarPlay doesn’t do anything harmful. CarPlay + Fullsreen using ENET, ALWAYS comes with „Restore to OEM” function, so it could be always restored before service then applied again.

Just got back from doing the full screen install through Kubax’s services. Worked like a charm. Had to ask for his help to configure something with my ethernet and the guy was very willing and helpful. 10/10 would totally recommend. He also provides several other options for activation besides carplay if you want to check them out.

I suppose if this were the case, just rerun the tool that kubax86 provided you. If it doesn't work, DM him and I'm sure he'll help. It was a pretty pain free experience with him, and others have been saying the same too.

I installed full screen carplay using KubaX's services... everything works like a charm! Easy and quick install. Very worthwhile upgrade that makes Google Maps, Waze and numerous other apps much more useful.

For those who've done this with a Mac, could you describe the process?
I'm analog in a digital world, so keeping it simple and using small words is best. I don't have access to a pc laptop, so it's Mac or nothing. |

Can't be done natively in mac OS. You would need to run Windows inside a VM using Parallels or Fusion.
