Port Installed Parts
Hey all,
Apologies for the silly question, but this is the first time I’ve ordered from the factory; I ordered a 2020 M2C and I’m considering having the MPE and MP diffuser added @ the port. My dealer told me that if I added them at the port, they’d be included on the window sticker and have the car’s warranty. However, I got a quote from a different dealer for a total of about $900 less if I were to get it done after I pick up the car. My dealer then told me he could price match, but only for “post-delivery” as well, so it wouldn’t carry the warranty term of the rest of the car and only be for 2(?) years. I spoke to my insurance agent and she mentioned that having the parts port installed would be easier since I wouldn’t have to send it receipts or have to go through any extra hoops to get them covered since they’d already be on the window sticker. Is it better overall to just get the MPE and MPD installed @ the port? Thanks |

I like the idea to port install if you want to roll in the accessories into the financing lease .
However , if you port install you won't get the stock parts . So you can resell in the future. Is this a lease or purchase |

Port installed options have set base rates (i.e., the invoice amount is higher than a part plus labor invoice amount at the store) that the dealer has to eat (i.e., pass on to you on the sticker). Thus, while they can discount you the cost of the parts and labor at the store (post-delivery) pretty steep, they have a floor of how much they can discount for port installed parts.
They are right that post-delivery only has a 2 year warranty. Is that $900 cheaper including labor, because if it's not, chop off $400-500 of that number.

Ahh ok, thanks. Yep, the $900 cheaper figure includes labor.
