M2 OEM Rimless Rear View Mirror
Hello, has anyone installed an OEM rimless rear view mirror in their m2c or m2cs?
Found the following product which looks compatable: https://paddleshifterz.com/product/o...-16-2-471-107/ |

Awesome thanks. Anything to not when installing? Seems pretty straight forward.

Looking at the connections, the camera module on the back of the CS mirror appears to utilize two additional wires that are not present on the US-spec semi-frameless mirror, the EU-spec frameless mirror, or the OEM mirror from my Comp. It is potentially possible that the camera module could be swapped to the frameless mirror and the two additional wires added to the circuitboard. However, I haven't had time to tear down and inspect. Quote:
If I recall, there might be a US spec frameless mirror you can purchase. But you'd still have to figure out the additional camera module wiring that the Competition mirror doesn't have.

Wait, your US Homelink buttons work with an EU spec mirror? That doesn’t make sense. What P/N is your mirror?
And the Comp doesn't have the additional camera module that the CS has to deal with. So, regardless, it's definitely not plug and play for CS owners.

He's probably commenting not understanding that he has a Comp and we're trying to figure out if this works on a CS even with the fact we have the additional camera. Not flaming anyone, just pointing out this fact.

1) People tend to confuse the semi-frameless mirrors (P/N: 51169476753 / 51166830616 / 51166995975 / 51169459440) with the fully-frameless mirror (EU-spec P/N: 51162471107 or US-spec P/N: 51169476754). 2) If you're in the US and want the fully-frameless mirror that works with US Homelink, you have to buy 51169476754 (credit to agent_orange for discovery). Alternatively, you can buy the EU-spec one (51162471107), but then you'll have to swap the circuitboard. 3) In either case, CS (and possibly specific spec Comp) owners also have to content with the mounting bracket that houses the automatic high beam camera module and contend with the 2 extra camera wires. I know I sound like a broken record, but I want to make this painfully clear to others, before they spend their money. All that said, it does look like Tano was able to do this retrofit with the US-spec semi-frameless mirror, including the camera module. HERE is a link to his post. I imagine it could also be accomplished with the fully-frameless mirror (51169476754), but can't say for sure. I'm hoping to dig back into this project, sometime soon.

Will 51169476754 work for US spec comps and OGs? Assuming that the proper repinning is done?

Yes, from my understanding, it will work for the Comp w/US-spec Homelink. I imagine it should work with the OG, as well. However, I don’t have direct experience with that car.
