It's so tempting! Has anyone pulled the trigger on one of these? At half the price, it just might be worth it! Update: Fits 2018 LCI Models as well!! Last edited by bimmer4life24; 09-18-2017 at 08:33 PM.. |

A lot of the ebay ads steal pics of more upmarket diffusers as seen on this forum, this puts me off completely. Hopefully the ones in the ad above are legit pictures of the actual diffuser (on the car), watermarking proves nothing. Willing to take a punt, but like everyone else I'd love to hear from someone who has already installed it

Really? Were there any changes to the bumper from pre to post LCI? Pretty sure it was just the tail lights that were different... |

Usually cheap Carbon fiber is just that, cheap. Many of these parts identified as "M style" or "BMW style" are fiberglass backed carbon covered pieces. Real cf is very lightweight, these pieces are often as heavy or heavier than the part you may be replacing. You can't fault real OEM fit and finish, but there are many other suppliers offering well engineered, high quality real cf parts, the down side is they are not cheap.
Ask anyone if their wives would be ok with a gold plated engagement ring as opposed to the real deal, real cf verses the cheap stuff is the same theory applied to guys. |

Agreed. Knock off China carbon fiber parts are rarely as good a deal as it seems. These types of vendors usually will steal the pictures from another company and then list the same high quality features as the authentic part which are lies. You may get a part that looks okay at first, but you may have issues with fitment and even if it fits ok, most of them turn yellow very fast and the clear coat may start falling apart. Materials used are cheap and won't last. Saving a few hundred is not worth putting an inferior product on your M2. Personally I hate to reward people that steal from other companies for a living. Whether they are copying BMW or aftermarket companies that makes original designs, they are STEALING. Developing original products requires a lot of labor and investment. Regardless of what industry you work in, think about how it feels if another company just came in and copied all your work and sold it for cheaper and stole all your profits. It's not as innocent as it seems. |
