Spy shots: M2 Competition (Hockenheim Silver) + X3M parked at Estoril race track
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com About a week ago or so I was at an M Driver's Experience at Estoril in Portugal to test and explore the F90 M5. I heard rumours that they had an M2 Competition and an X3 M in the circuit premises, hidden somewhere. As this was the last day of the event they were packing up the trucks to leave and I spotted the M2 Competition and the X3 M as they were being loaded on the transportation truck. Unfortunately pictures are very poor quality as I was moving to enter the track and the cars were a bit far away. Although you can't really tell from the pictures, the car was clearly in a shade of silver, very light shade but silver. The wheels were black and reminded me of the 1M wheels. I am sorry for the delay in posting these, hope you enjoy it. Best regards! Close-ups: |

Thanks.
Let's zoom in. Fuzzy, but gets us a rough idea of Hockenheim Silver Metallic + the 788M Y-spoke wheels: Sepia treatment: Negative treatment:

Interesting to get a look at HKS. Looks more gray than I thought - but we need better quality pics.

Enough of the M2 ZCP, how bout the G01 M- rims look similar to the current F85/F86.

Nice job spotting these! This F97 mule looks way lower than the G01 and appears to have wider fender flares. The front air intakes look much larger as well. This is promising!

There's something wrong with the X3. The gap between the front wheel and bumper is unusual and makes the car look like a FWD. Hmm... could that be the real deal?

Could have a new version of M xDrive. The X3 M40i is AWD.

Comparing both cars in size, I don't think we're looking at the X3M but rather the X2M35i. It's simply to small to be a X3.
The front brakes are also a give away for FWD cars. If you compare this shot with previous spy mics, the brakes are in a different position. Attachment 1793962 |
