Opening it manually will not work given the location of the valve past a bend. its hard to visualize but the direction to look is through the medial drivers side tailpipe, with your eye near the 7 o'clock position looking deep and diagonally towards the 2 o'clock position.
Best method to open it: start it, put it in Sport+, Rev her up and shut it down.
