I was recently at Thunderhill 3-mile with 265 + 295 R888Rs and I had substantially more grip than stock (expected), more than I had with RE71Rs (255/275) and I felt like a bit more warning before they let go than I did with the Sport Cups (245/265) and perhaps more grip but probably due to the size difference. That being said it was a very hot and smokey day there may have been a bit too much heat in them in the final sessions. Hope to give them a better run another day.
I wouldn't drive them on the road though - I've luckily got a dedicated set of track wheels that I swap to at the track.
